SalsaQueen No carers. He is physically ok, bit of a limp, cognitive issues and has lost periphiral vision. Still very stubborn and knows everything. Trying to get him to wash his hands properly is a huge task.

Had a wobble last night/early hours today. I had not heard from my daughter. She has visited every day since he had his stroke, and she has phoned every day since we have been socially isolating.

Happy to say she phoned this morning and explained she has worked afternoon shift till 10 o'clock and got in and fell asleep. (She is a nurse and a key worker)

What a relief I felt afterwards.

Glad you're feeling better today Joce and keeping busy. I haven't any tips for quilting unfortunately.
I always enjoy the poetry Annie.
I had a walk with my little dog, it was sunshining and the birds were singing. The trees are starting to come into leaf.

Going to try and get ‘Poldark 1975/76’ on my tv , it’s on uTube,

nonnie I think being accepting of the current situation is a good place to be. There is little we can do about it other than to follow the rules and say a few prayers for those who are suffering.

Just want to share about how I am feeling as a result of the current crisis: Not worried, just accepting I can do nothing more than already done. I understand that not everyone is able to choose the things they worry about, whether rational or not, just wanted to say this positive thing I feel. So far DH and I are not getting stir crazy

Gossamerbeynon1945 Your husband doesn't want to communicate at all? It must be a lonely and frustrating life for you. Does he have carers to help? Crossroads is a good organisation who can provide a carer to not only help with your husband's personal care but assist you with housework, shopping, etc. They will also sit with your husband if you want to go out (not that you can at the moment, but later on) if you waant to have your hair done/go to a cafe/meet a friend, whatever.

Just a wee hello before I get ready to go to bed to read for a little while.
Made scones today so DH and I had scones with jam and cream this afternoon. I did wee bit housework and some laundry. Was going to go out a walk but apart from weather not being very nice and I just could not motivate myself I didn’t go.
Been feeling wee bit emotional and scared today.
Annie sorry to hear about your family and work worries. It’s awful when you can’t fix things for them.
Annie I do like your poems please keep them coming if you can.

Had a busy day today but not really achieved much. Still weekend tomorrow so official lazy day ?

I honestly think he is a lost cause. He had speech therapy for 3 months and an online programme to help him. He now refuses to use either, so he is not helping himself.

I am a great fan of Makaton and I think it would help him, but if he doesn't want help there is nothing I can do. He is very stubborn - always has been. I deal with it by going out into the garden and having a "silent scream"

Salsa yes I am, I'm learning a new skill, its called procrastination . So far today I've done some home exercises, faffed around on my laptop and finished knitting a sock. Time for a break

Aww no my sons same.. SIL as well.. daughter working from home. Where will it all end... pray it’s soon for them all..

What a day this is. My son in law who isn’t has had to close
down his firm. My brother thinks he will have to close his too
which means my other son in law will be off work.

Last week my elder granddaughter’s partner was laid off and
now she has been laid off.

My younger daughters husband is waiting to hear if he can’t fly back to work this month.

Joyce so sorry you had a panic attack, they are stinkers but do not affect you physically, can do no physical damage.

As you woke and one came on it is rather the same as ‘flooding’ sometimes used for phobias. If I may compare?
You were sleeping, much anxiety in the home and country, so whilst sleeping you have relaxed mentally and physically, waking is rather like a shock .

When I try to walk the garden path , wide spaces, lot of sky, everything brighter, cars, people, this is a shock after being in
my living room, 4 walls and a ceiling, so shock.

When I next walk the path, allowing for wretched arthritis, I
have to tell myself , ‘been here before, it passed so this too
will pass, I know it will but it’s anxiety about having anxiety.

Doodle I love poetry, always have, Wish you could get from

Nonnie, Joce345, LavenderzenDoodle*, everyone else, I hope you're managing to keep occupied during this lockdown. I'm lucky, I've been to work, but I'm now at home - husband is too, for months(?!) as his workplace has closed due to non-essential work/not able to keep to safe distancing. I've taken the curtains down in the front room, washed them, got them on the line. I'm washing windows, doing jobs I can't usually be bothered with!

I was a Care Worker for 20 years and went to a lot of people who, for one reason or another, were unable to speak. The books/signs are very useful. I'm not sure how to post a link, but if you copy this address and search, you should be able to find out.

Yes joce I have had a few and it is a horrid feeling. However, I was told, by a CPN, that panic attacks though unpleasant will not kill you and if you start feeling like that you should say to yourself “it’s just panic it will pass”. Hope you are feeling a bit better now.
annie that quote from your post was lovely. I don’t really read poetry much as for some reason it makes me sad. I have the same problem with music which helps so many but in my case often makes me feel maudlin. As a born worrier I have spent most of my life worrying about one thing or another and music often reminds me of a past fear. I must try and be more positive and try again. I thought that quote was so nice.

Oh Joce how horrid, hope your day improves.

We seem to have quite a Welsh/Welsh lover contingent. I think we all enjoy those same voices wherever we came from. I've listened to Richard Burton's War of the Worlds lots of times.

Feeling unmotivated today and been doing a lot of procrastinating. I am so fortunate with my friends and family, getting increased phone calls and emails from people wanting to know we are OK. Need to go and do the full Pilates programme which DS has given me.
