Flu jab side effects?

I had my first flu jab yesterday (I’m in the new 50+ group). The nurse said my arm might be a bit sore today, but it’s absolutely fine. I have however woken up this morning with a strange sensation in one ear and it hasn’t gone. It feels full and blocked, although it definitely isn’t blocked, I can hear ok. Is this a coincidence do you think or from the jab? I’ve looked on NHS online and it only mentions the sore arm. Anyone else had this? It’s really annoying. (I do get whistling and hissing sounds normally (tinnitus?) but this is different).

Sounds more like ear wax building up! Unlikely to be anything to do with the jab, just a coincidence, but you can always ring 111 to check.

It's probably just coincidence but you could phone for advice if it gets no better.

I got a sore arm this time which I don't remember before.

Thought I’d give an update. My ear was a bit better the next morning and by bedtime was back to normal. Weird. ?

Glad your ear is feeling better, Hooty. I can’t say that i’ve ever had noticed a correlation between the flu jab and a blocked sensation in the ears, although I had my flu jab on 19 September - no sore arm, no feeling slightly under the weather in the days following

Sorry - posted too soon!! I’ve have blocked ears in August and again this month. I saw a nurse the first time and she recommended olive oil drops which seemed to do the trick. I didn’t want to assume it was just blocked ears in case there was an infection there. She said no infection could be seen (BOTH ears were blocked with wax apparently although I only thought it was one ear). I did get a bit of a wringing in the ears when they were very blocked.

Well that was the weird thing, it wasn’t blocked at all, I could hear perfectly well, it was just that sensation when you have a blocked ear and that pressure and sort of whooshing noise. I’ve never had ears blocked with wax, only bad colds, but I know from other sufferers it’s not nice. Anyway mine has gone now thank goodness.
