My DH just been taken into hospital with an irregular heartbeat, low oxygen and breathlessness worse than normal due to COPD. He has been unwell since xmas eve and we have tried to cope at home with calls to 111 and gp ringing us back with prescription for antibiotics and steriods as he is prone to chest infections. But this morning we had to admitt defeat. Hoping they will discharge later today as dont really want him staying in there, also that they will sort out what ever the issue is. sad

Just a quick post to say thank you for all the wonderful message and responses i have received. I am bowing out from GN for a while as i try to process what has happened in my life and i try to rebuild my physcial health. I feel i am on the path to recovery but it is going to be a long process. I feel very weak and spend most of my time sleeping, which i suppose is natures way of healing. I am well supported by family and friends and need for nothing other than the human touch which is not allowed at the moment as i am still in isolation and we have lock down. Once i feel stronger i will come back as i am sure GN will be a very welcome lifeline to me. Bye for now. xx

Hope travelsafar will be back with us soon.

Bathsheba Sat 16-Jan-21 09:46:05

So good that you had a GN friend to contact in that way Marydoll. Hope you're feeling a lot better now x

Marydoll Thu 14-Jan-21 14:47:48

I realised that if I disappeared after my recent heart attack, it would cause lots of speculation, so I contacted a GN friend and asked her to post a brief comment on what had transpired.

Bathsheba Thu 14-Jan-21 14:02:20

Marydoll

I have thought for a while, if you are happy to share personal info, that's it's good to have a GN friend who can give an update, if necessary.

Yes, it would be good wouldn't it? I hate when people just 'disappear', especially during this terrible time, and especially when we already know they have Covid. There was another long term member who disappeared from GN for quite a while and we were all so worried about her. Thankfully, she reappeared, totally surprised at all the concern shown her.

LauraNorder Thu 14-Jan-21 13:52:17

If you are reading travelsafar, so many of us are thinking of you at this awful time. I hope you have some support around you. Come back when you feel ready.

Jaxjacky Thu 14-Jan-21 13:21:46

I too think of her often and hope she is coping.

Grannynannywanny Thu 14-Jan-21 12:49:28

I find myself checking this thread several times a day hoping travels has posted to say she’s home from hospital. I hope she soon feels strong enough, both mentally and physically, to drop in to post.

EllanVannin Thu 14-Jan-21 12:46:46

From what I understood she wasn't too well herself at the same time so with her terribly sad loss and if feeling unwell too she won't feel like doing anything poor woman.

Puzzler61 Thu 14-Jan-21 12:41:14

I too keep travels in my thoughts and hope she is able to make contact with us soon. ? flowers
