At the moment I use Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. But as soon as it gets sunny I use Origins tinted moisturiser as it has a SPF.

Since lockdown and retirement I no longer use any beauty products, and my skin appears no better or worse than usual. Even after a poor night’s sleep, I find a quick shower has me looking as good as new.

I’ve tried the Florale (it came as part of a tester set), but as you say I use perfume anyway so it clashes. And I don’t use scented products on my face.

MaggieMaybe - is that the shimmering oil? I've used it on my legs but not my face. Isn't it a bit too oily?

That’s the one, CanadianGran. It is oily, but I’ve always had very dry skin and it works for me once it settles in. Plays havoc with my glasses when I’m on a non-contact-lens day though! grin

Don’t use anything, just hope a good night’s sleep helps.

Definitely Laura Geller balance and brighten amazing!

Have you smelled their new oil, Florale? It smells heavenly but I already wear scent so have not purchased it. Tempted though.

For my face I use a tinted moisturizer from Marcelle, mixed in with their version of rosy glow, and a little concealer under my eyes and on a few sun spots. Mascara is a must.

Don't you all miss lip colour?

Just got L'Oreal Rosy Glow in Morrison's it's on offer at half price only (£7.50) There were two day & night time. The day time one was SPF 20.
Looking forward to trying it out tomorrow. Thanks for the tip everyone.
My own essentials at present since Boots & department stores are out of reach for me are lippy - lol - just can't help it, touch of eye liner & serum & moituriser.
The latest serum is from Aldi & does seem to do some good. Moisturiser supermarket purchase L'Oreal revitalift.

Silk pillowcase, Laura Mercier concealer, YSL touch éclat pen over the top of my concealers and nude/white pencil for inner eye to brighten.

I use Elemis cleansing balm. It’s gloriously cleaning and moisturing. Ren products - Their eye cream, exfoliating toner, serum and night cream. Elemis Marine cream moisturiser (though it’s shockingly expensive, so when I have finished my current jar, I’ll move to Ren for day cream too). I am not diligent and don’t the whole routine, or even part of it everyday. To look better if I need to go somewhere (we used to do that didn’t we?), I swear by YSL Touche Eclait (the best concealer ever!

i love poko under eye cream

The one thing that I feel everyone needs including me is a concealer. One swipe and that dark line has gone away. For years and years and years I've used Rimmel's Hide the Blemish, I use Natural Beige which is a perfect skin match. That alone will set me up for the day. Added cosmetics are a bonus like a blusher, but if you have more time to spare then Rimmel's Sunshimmer Medium shimmer (it washes off) will give anyone that sunkissed look. If you have still 1 minute to spare then any sort of rose cream blusher over the cheeks and hey presto, you're ready for anywhere. Lacura Q10 serum underneath will keep a lovely moist dewy skin.

I keep a bottle of Liz Earle's Eyebright soothing eye lotion in the fridge. In the morning I pour a generous amount onto cotton wool pads and sweep them over my eyelids, then time permitting I place them over my eyes and relax for 5-10 minutes.

Rosy glow works for me too. I hate going into work with dark circles and work with bright young things who used to party all night and still look great!

The best beauty product ever is water!

Drink plenty of water to flush the system especially if you have overloaded your system with food or drink. Splashing the face with cold water in the morning also helps to revive and brighten.

The cheapest and most vital product on the market for sure.

NannaGrandad Tue 16-Mar-21 17:06:46

Kiehls midnight recovery oil applied at bedtime does wonders for my skin.

Miriam Tue 16-Mar-21 16:57:10

I would not face the day without a full make up, even if I do not plan to leave the house. I have been doing this all my adult life which amuses friends who never bother even if they are going out but just to walk the dog. I would not be without my eye cream though,

NotTooOld Tue 16-Mar-21 16:19:54

Thanks for that, FannyC. I've just ordered some moisturiser from Amazon.
I also like Clarins Flash Balm but it is expensive. Has anyone found a cheaper version that is as good?

TrendyNannie6 Tue 16-Mar-21 15:57:55

Good nights sleep and mascara

silversand12 Tue 16-Mar-21 15:55:39

I haven't found anything that works, but I shall be watching with interest cos goodness knows often my circles would put a panda to shame!

Herbie9 Tue 16-Mar-21 15:31:20

I'm a great believer in "tapping". Using your ring finger tap gently 5/8 times underneath your eyes. I then apply a Bodyshop eye concealer, finishing with a tinted moisturiser. I'm afraid with age it seems that even after a good night's sleep we can't escape from "panda eyes" but I find the above helps.

Nanna29 Tue 16-Mar-21 15:00:48

I've just started using revitalift it doesn't make my eyes sore which most creams do

emziemay Tue 16-Mar-21 14:52:54

Definitely mascara and Clarins Flash Balm makes me look more awake!
