Is there one rule for us and one for them?
How can he say, with a straight face that he is not isolating?
I can imagine people up and down the land choking on their breakfast. The audacity! This could lead to real social unrest.
He could pass this on to anyone who works at No10. Has he no common sense or decency?
I cannot believe when I read that he is so popular. Why?

Sparklefizz I’m not a Tory voter, but I respect him. He has principles, integrity and a brain. That’s what is needed.

Bring back Kenneth Clarke, he’d be the man for the job I think.

He's a dinosaur though.

Can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m very impressed with David Davis these days.

I liked Gove until I read that piece by his wife. Had high hopes for Matty, but power has gone to his head too.

Gove?He even lied about his own father and his father had to publicly correct the lies

@Joesoap. No politician or scientific adviser has ever claimed that the vaccine stopped you from getting Covid. The whole point was that once the majority of the population is vaccinated, the transmission rate is much lower and the symptoms much milder, thus easing the pressure on the NHS by breaking the link between infection and hospitalisation. I’m CEV and had Covid in February - am now double vaccinated and I tested positive a couple of weeks ago, resulting in very mild symptoms, so obviously the vaccines work the way they are supposed to.

Rory Stewart. Oh sh**. He’s left the party…..it’ll have to be Jeremy Hunt then. Can’t believe I’m thinking of Jeremy Hunt as my saviour but at least he looks and speaks like a normal human being unlike Johnson, Mogg and Gove.

So, if Boris were to throw in the towel tomorrow, who would the GNetters trust to sort out this sorry mess? Has to be an MP, so Mr Cummings can't stand.

I quite like Brandon Lewis.

Red Mogg - love that! smile

MayBee70 Tue 20-Jul-21 12:47:23

Red Mogg. Auto correct strikes again but ‘Red’? It obviously doesn’t know the man!

Luckygirl Tue 20-Jul-21 12:37:50

Or Gove.........what a shower.

MayBee70 Tue 20-Jul-21 12:08:05

He’s like a child that, having learned that he can get what he wants by lying, continues to lie. And he is a man child. There is nothing adult about him other than an ability to procreate. I can’t think of a worse person we could have as PM during a pandemic although Red Mogg comes close.

Luckygirl Tue 20-Jul-21 10:12:59

We need a leader with good judgement, not someone who could not work out that not isolating by finding himself a loophole would have caused an outcry.

The management of the pandemic should have included a coalition, so that people's lives did not lie exclusively in the hands of one powerful dishonest man.

Juicywords Tue 20-Jul-21 08:55:58

I never would have believed we’d have such a hopeless PM. He’s a man asleep on the job.

Delta is as we know the dominant strain in the U.K. and causing havoc once again to people’s lives.

Johnson was warned of the variant in JANUARY, and to close borders with the Indian sub-continent.

He prevaricated for nearly 4 months and didn’t do as advise until APRIL.

You can definitely get covid twice. Nephew has it for the second time and both his parents. This new variant is very easy to catch. Take care people.

So yet again the arrogance of these people who think that they can say do as I say and not do as I do is revealed. Do hope that people will remember this when elections come round. I am only interested in what medically qualified people say . All these idiots can do is waste money on unnecessary things , making a mess of track and trace and they cant be trusted to put people or safety before their own selfish wishes.

Talking to a taxi driver today, who said that people are really furious at Johnson.

So those on GN who are critical of the way Johnson is behaving are no different to those in the taxi drivers cab, and others I have met and chatted to on my holiday from the south coast to Northumberland and back and stops in between.

I had to laugh when a nightclub owner on the London news in a live broadcast said “Boris is a buffoon , and I apologise to all buffoons out there for being compared to him”.
I expect they’ll be a few “ he’s doing his ickle best “ comments to come along soon.,

Luckygirl Mon 19-Jul-21 21:38:58

Anti Boris comments!!

What on earth else do you expect when he has bungled the management of covid and many have died because of his incompetence?

I am fully aware that no government would have made a perfect job of it, but there has been one cock-up after another from this deceitful moral vacuum of a human being.

So far we've had:

Johnson has Covid, Johnson doesn't have Covid. He can't have it because he's had it before, he can't have it because he's double jabbed, he can't have it because it doesn't exist.

He isn't self isolating, he is self isolating, he wasn't going to self isolate but he is now; he's on a pilot scheme, he's not on a pilot scheme, there is no pilot scheme.

What's next? He's isolating with Rishi and they've sent out for takeaway pizza hmm

Now come on don't spoil the madness with such a great post grin

A colleague of mine has tested positive with Covid despite already having had it and being double vaccinated. Fortunately he has no symptoms this time unlike previously when he was quite poorly.
