pregablin

Hello travels Both DH and I are on them (Chez Cornforth is opioids central).
I take them as well as Tramodol.
No side effects other than feeling a bit drowsy and away with the fairies (but that could be the tramadol).
Yes - they definitely help with the nerve pain.
Next week I’m having an injection in my spine to try to free the trapped nerve.

Which drug do you say you take for the arthritic pain?
It sounds as if we’ve got very similar issues.
I’ve got osteoarthritis in my hip and knee, same leg as the trapped nerve

I take pregabalin for extreme nerve pain in my foot.
I have take one tablet late afternoon/ early evening.

I have not experienced any side effects.

I was also on Pregabalin but only for a couple of weeks if that because I developed a rash. I knew that I was not to stop taking them immediately although my GP, when he saw the rash, told me to stop instantly. I withdrew slowly and I was fine and my rash slowly vanished,

DH was prescribed Pregabalin for peripheral neuropathy following his various cancer treatments. It helped, but his memory and concentration were affected so badly, he was convinced he had Dementia, but our GP said it was a side effect of the Pregabalin - so he tried to cut down, which he found impossible.

Loads of weight gain and my head grew - yes seriously!! I noticed when I had a photo taken some months later and yes this is a side effect.

Just to add...
I have actually lost weight (over 3 stone) whilst taking pregabalin, This was through diet and excercise nothing to do with the medication.

I’ve been taking Pregabalin for 2 years for peripheral neuropathy and it has helped.
Like you I am aware of the extreme side effects and fortunately don’t appear to have suffered any of them other than some weight gain. Yesterday my consultant neurologist has suggested the dose is increased and I am reluctant partly because of fear of the side effects occurring with an increase. The neurologist says that it’s unlikely to happen as I’ve already been on them all this time without ill effect and if necessary could just drop back to my current dose (which is fairly high). It’s possible to go up to 600mg daily.
I have today started to watch calories with a view to getting rid of the weight gained.
