No personal experience but a friend has one and he was told to give up smoking and drinking immediately. He is quite a large man. He did well in giving up smoking but drinking has been a losing battle and he is still overweight. But that is a few years ago now so hopefully he is one of “ it won’t happen ones.”

DP had the scan recently and was told the result immediately. The procedure was very similar to a pregnancy scan. He was told that negative outcomes are quite rare and that they essentially had four different routes.

In the worst case rapid intervention

In a bad case repeated 3-monthly scans

In a mild case repeated yearly scans

If there’s no problem then that’s end of it, they said “if it hasn’t started to happen by now it won’t happen”

No. OH had the scan but all was OK.

Does anyone have any experience of this in their menfolk please? Treatment, recovery and care after surgery, keyhole or otherwise?
Just a bit concerned about a family member who’s yet to have his scan.
Plenty of info on the internet but real life information would be helpful.
