FannyCornforth have you been off the grid? I thought of you as I was trying to get to sleep last night! If I had made a.cuppa and got back to GN I would have seen your post.

This link is from snopes, but isn't guaranteed to be factual by them, as obviously there was and is more research to be done.

It also has links to other research on the matter.

Thanks for the link. It's good to read all pov otherwise how are we as lay people ever going to make an informed choice?
TBH there is so much information on the internet I find it hard not to be swayed this way or that!
I thought Jo Churchill's reply was informative, giving all the reasons supporting the gov actions.

I have been taking D3 for a few years as I have very dodgy lungs. The government offered D3 to people on the CEV list last year.

I haven't had any antibiotic for well over two years now so D3 may have helped - or maybe staying away from people because of Covid!

I haven't read 'em myself yet. smile
Let us know if you find anything interesting to report back, please.

David Davis did a couple of web chats with Dr John Campbell last year. He is science based and has spoken in parliament about the benefits of taking Vit D. I think the arguments against taking it are flawed in that there doesn’t seem to be any research that proves that it doesn’t work and, given that it’s cheap and safe I can’t see any reason not to take it. I haven’t read the links yet, though: will do when I’ve had a cuppa!

I posted on the other thread that when my husband was in Critical Care with Covid pneumonia, all of the patients there were give AdCal (vitamin D and calcium) tablets twice a day, and sent home with them. He still takes them.
I’m not sure how much vitamin D is in them.

(I've tested this link which has worked although sometimes it didn't. If anyone else can help make this more reliable I would be grateful)

Sorry Ive started yet another thread on Vit D3, which might be irritating, but I thought this video might be lost if posted on the other threads.

MissAdventure asked a very valid question
Does anyone think if the gov. could get us to buy Vit D3 and it would help Covid they wouldn't do that?

I'd asked myself the same question.
So I was prompted to see if there was an answer.

I think this video is as close as we are going to get to one.

DD puts the arguments for Vit D and they are countered by Jo Churchill MP.
