I rarely drink alcohol mainly because it causes stomach problems but I do enjoy wine so I will most likely have a dry January...February...March.....

Unless you normally drink large amounts of alcohol ( in which case you should think about having less every month) I see no point in dry January. Why ( especially for older people) deprive yourself of a nice Baileys or G&T....so no, I won’t be doing it.

I drink very little and several times a year will be alcohol free for 4 weeks without even realising I am doing it, so I will not bother to do dry January.

I now only drink a g&t and/or a couple of glasses of wine at weekends to keep my weight down so it will be a dry (ish) January for me. ?

I used to enjoy my drink till I realised I was drinking too much when a checkout assistant looked shocked when I admitted to drinking a bottle of brandy a week! I just gave it up there and then and I’m quite happy to have done so.

As the last time I had a glass of wine was on 18th October (a cousin’s birthday) I guess I will be having a ‘dry’ January anyway, as I can take it or leave it. I do need to lose weight though and have started on the Diabetes Prevention Program. Good luck with your plan Bertha, hope we are both slimmer and fitter soon.

I don’t drink often enough to notice the difference so no, but I’m going to keep up my gym visits.
Good luck!

I did Dry January a few years ago as a charity fundraiser and what I actually did was eat LOADS. This time I am doing for health reasons and have joined Slimming World as well - anyone joining me here for DJ?
