Have any of you tried this approach ? I have suffered from back pain on and off (and other random headaches/pains for that matter) for many years.
Last year I developed chronic back/sciatic pain which lasted 9 months and was getting worse - I dreaded getting up to face yet another day of pain. I tried lots of things, physio exercise, gentle walking, tens machine, chiropractor, body massage, ignoring the pain, painkilling medications did nothing.
The chiropractor was sure that my pain was being caused by my brain and nervous system. What a load of rubbish I thought but after reading books on chronic pain I wondered if this could be the case. This does appear to be the new way of thinking but despite this non of the books I read or the chiropractor could offer practical ways to stop my brain from producing the pain. Then I came across Somatic tracking, a technique mentioned in a fairly new book The Way Out by Alan Gordon. I’ll try anything I thought, to my surprise after only two weeks I noticed a difference and now the pain has gone, it’s a miracle.
I’m thinking this technique will become more well known but I wanted to share as there must be lots of people on Granset who are suffering from chronic pain and perhaps haven’t heard of this. It can’t harm you physically as it’s a brain ‘exercise’ and who knows it might help. There are videos on YouTube about Somatic tracking.
