If you are looking for pre-prepared food, I would recommend

www.cookfood.net/info/Shopping-Online/home-delivery/

They don’t deliver all over the country so you would need to check on their website. Their food is very good and reasonable.

Just a few thoughts fanny.

Are you receiving all the benefits to which you are entitled? AA is one that immediately springs to mind if you fit the age criteria. That's Attendance Allowance not anything else you might think! grin

A benefits check isn't a bad idea anyway.

AgeUK have a whole list of down loads that might be worth looking at and you can ring and ask to speak to a benefits adviser. Our local one is astounding!! And AgeUK are for anyone over the age of 50.

Do you do things like getting meal deliveries? Wiltshire Farm Foods might be worth looking at.

Please feel free to pm if it helps.

Another hand hold from me but no experience I’m afraid. Good luck!

Hand hold from me too. Sound advice about not involving SS, they are overworked and will just tell you to fund it yourself anyway, the days of local authority funded home helps are well gone! Ask around neighbours would be my advice, that is what we did when looking for care for my late DM, we found an excellent company who employed lovely staff, paid them well, visits minimum of 30 minutes, none of this 15 minute box ticking nonsense. One tip; so many older people are very set in their ways and their meal times, if you can go outside these times ( 12-1.30 lunch, 5-6 evening meal) you will find they can fit you in more quickly. If you need any more help, please ask!

Oh thank you.
I knew that I could rely on you.
I’ve got to aid DH with a hospital telephone appointment and I’ll be back later.
Thank you for the link kitty

I would suggest contacting SERVE charity in your area or AGE UK Fanny.

Is this any good? I've just done a quick Google.

? a hand to hold. Fanny.

The one bit of advice I would give is that if you will be funding it yourself, don't go through SS. They charge a fee on top of the cost of the carer.

Finding someone yourself means you have control over timings and length of visit.

Round here there are companies who offer these services on a private basis.
