I tested positive for covid today. I had symptoms, and a friend who I had seen this week let me know she had tested positive so I used a lateral flow test. I sent the result off as requested. I have since received conflicting information. Yes, send for a PCR test. No, you don’t need to do a PCR test unless you have been asked to be involved in research. My daughter has done a PCR test because she needs proof to show her travel agent for a refund. She tested positive the day before she was due to fly to Spain. The latest government info said you don’t need a PCR test. My friend has sent for one. I imagine these things cost money so surely if the LF tests shows positive why do the PCR test too? Maybe I’m missing something but I’m not sure what. Any thoughts please?
