Last night when I got up from sofa to go to bed I came over very giddy. Perfectly fine before hand. This morning feeling very unsteady and a little nauseous too. After shower and breakfast I felt not ill but but not right. Currently sitting down with a bowl just in case. The feeling has gone but I don't feel right. Do I need to ring surgery or not?‽?

It sounds like vertigo. It is a symptom so you need to consider the cause.
Google Vertigo and you will see the likely causes.
Usually, Inner Ear problems or neck spinal problem causing blood flow problems to head.
I have had it for several week! So good luck!

Labyrinthitis perhaps.
It can be caused by a virus/inner ear infection or be connected to low blood pressure or even any medication you are on.
Best to get it checked out.

I had these symptoms too last Autumn. Turned out to be viral. They went away after about 10 days. Hope you feel better soon.

Maybe you need your ears syringed travelasfar.
Dh was the same and his ears needed to be cleared, all good so far.

Have you done a covid test? as mine started with dizziness like this

This is how covid started for me. Awful vertigo. Definitely do a test.

I thought I had Vertigo last summer, very similar to your story. Eventually after a couple of days I phone GP, yep easy diagnosing over the phone!
Thought it Virus not Covid however couple of weeks later same but worse happened.
I was admitted to Hospital with Fast AF.. Told by consultant my "Virtigo" was AF.
So don't leave this please contact GP.

As my Dr said when I had similar: with virtigo the room spins while you are still. If it’s you that is giddy then it’s possible something else.

DH had this and it was a stroke caused by dangerously high blood pressure. GP over phone diagnosed labyrinthitis. She phoned back 2 days later to check and asked to see him - was just over a year ago - his BP was 250/160 so sent straight to hospital. It was caused by a vertebral artery dissection. Very scary and I wasn't allowed in. Had to hand over clothes at door. Best to get BP checked.

Yes, I was going to say blood pressure ElaineI.

Best to get that checked.

Ring the surgery and get it checked out; it does sound like vertigo to me which I had once about fifteen years ago.

We are descending into this' I don't want to bother the doctor' syndrome and it is not good enough.
