Just joined this forum. I was diagnosed with scciatia about two months ago. . I saw an oteopath who was not very good so I switched to a physiotherapist. I was impressed with the physioterapist but now I have some concerns. I was given completely different exercises to that of the osteopath. I was also told to do the exerccises every coupe of hours. I have never heard of anyone being told to exercise so often. My sciatica is mild and painless most of the time but sometimes I do get a flare up. I was tol by the physio that the sciatica will eventually go away if I do regular excises every two hours. My sciatica is caused by bulging discs in lower back. My physio has never seen me when I have had a flare up and therefore I am told I am going really well.
I keep telling the physio that my sciatica will not ever go away because as long as I have bulging discs hitting the sciatic nerve I will have sciatica. I was aso told that the discs can shift backwards oer time with exercise. I said the only way they can be put back is with surgery.
I cannot sit for long because it brings a flare up. I asked for accupuncture because the osteopath gae it to me and I was told no accupuncture will do you no good.
Any advice thans
My physio said i have done so well and not in pain when he sees me that he has suggested I dont go for a few weeks because I dont need it.
I am confused. I think I will have this sciatic for years but the physio does not agree
