Using a balance board - have you tried?

I’ve just got myself a balance board, because I noticed I’m slumping too much when I’m walking, and losing my ‘spring’. I am absolutely hopeless! My children both got on and could stand on both legs, one leg and one of them could do squats straight away, the other after a few minutes practice. I can’t even stand on two legs, I have to hold on. Has anybody got one, and if so have you persisted and improved your posture?

I haven't got one but I have used one, balance is one of the first things we start to lose as we age so anything to help improve it is worth doing. Use a wall to help you but try not to depend on it completely and I guess you will improve. My pilates classes do quite a bit on balance but I'm noticeably less balanced than I was five years ago. Ugh!!!

I tried one. I fell of it.

I bought one years ago, with the intention of improving my poor balance. I found it hard so put it away but by coincidence tried it out this morning. Had to hold on to a chair to get myself onto it, must try harder.

You do have to persevere. I used to use one in the gym for a while after I'd had an accident. As someone else suggested use a wall or chair back or what ever allows you to hold on while standing up straight. You gradually get used to where your weight needs to be to allow you to balance.
