Strange questions from our Surgery this morning

This may not have been generated by your surgery. I had a similar request about smoking habits (I don’t smoke) I did answer the text & some time later, I had another text purporting to be from my surgery regarding another general health matter. As my surgery should have all of my details on record, I checked the phone number, which came from an unknown source which was neither surgery nor NHS. The “Who called me” app. flagged it as a scam.

Yes, I filled in their questionnaire online. One of the question was 'What do you think is wrong with you?' immediately followed by 'What would you like us to do about it?'. I ask you?!!

If it helps - you couldn’t take a guess at the answer to the second question as it would depend on some blood test results - (and interpretation by the GP)…

It does all seem very confusing trying to work out how to see someone to speak to about your health. In July I actually got a GP's appointment to discuss face to face, a matter that was concerning me. Due to a relocation and reorganisation of my GP Surgery I have no idea who my GP is but the young chap who dealt with me said he wasn't. He was going to refer me to the hospital to have an ultra sound. I asked him how long would I have to wait and he led me to believe an appointment would come through quickly but it may not be until next year. That was July, I have heard nothing since. I rang my GP's Surgery this morning, for reassurance I was in the system and could expect an appointment at sometime in the future. The lady I spoke to said, that my best bet was to ring the radio-ology (sp?) dept at the hospital and see when my appointment was to be. I rang the hospital, they knew about me, no appointment had been arranged yet but was I free 10.30 on Tuesday next week? I am so I shall be having my scan then. How weird is that? Personally I'm very pleased but wonder how long I would have waited if I hadn't rung up and dealt with some helpful people?

It is all very iffy at the moment! I heard this morning that the medical profession were not consulted about the promise(?) that we would be able to se a GP within two weeks of a request.

Since I went over threshold for diabetes in June I have had endless contact from my surgery with blood tests, follow phone appointments, and with a nurse face to face…….so there is funding for some things and not others.

I deleted the email, as it seemed a stupid question to ask, and I didn’t have any patience with it, so I can’t go back and check who it came from.

Maybe it was a scam after all. Good job I ignored it then.

Oops, speak to your pharmacist about dosage. Pharmacists know far more about drugs than GPs.

It depends whether you're already being see for a chronic condition. If you're not, everybody over 75 is entitled to a health check.

Currently, pharmacists don't have access to blood lipid profiles or other relevant information about statins.
