Any one else having symptoms after the Moderna Omicron Booster Vaccine?
(106 Posts)I had both the Covid booster and Flu vaccines at the same time. Its now day 6 after and I'm still not feeling at all good.
The day I had the vaccines I went home and felt Ok apart from sore arms which is usual. Next day I slept non stop for the whole day. I couldn't keep awake. I was also a bit nauseous. I've been really tired since then and yesterday and today I feel dizzy and 'spaced out'. It's a bit like being drunk all the time... which I haven't been for over 40 years... but I remember the feeling!
I had Pfizer last times and no adverse reaction at all.
Has anyone else had these or any other symptoms after the combined or single vaccine?
I had covid booster Modena 19 October had chills sore arm etc but then instead of improving feel so tired can hardly walk around doctor has put me on a course of steroids to hopefully give me a lift but resting and hoping it wears off soon
Had my Covid/flu together 2 days ago. Went to bed early then was sick several times during the night and into the next day. Have got up today, Saturday, but nodded off in the chair. Still feel not good. Slept on and off yesterday. No food wanted from Thursday tea until a slice of dry toast this morning. Why are they giving both jabs together, and why have some people ok?
Slept a bit longer today and very refreshed. No sysmptoms at all apart from a tender vax site. In order to give my body the wherewithall to adapt easily to the vaccine, I intend to have a relaxing easy day, just knitting, pottering, sitting outside with coffee in the sun and some tv and reading.
loads of people being vaccinated today. I had a very gentle nurse, made a change from the pharmacy flu jab. Flu jab two weeks ago, no side effects. 9 hours so far and only a tender arm so far from the covid vax, however I am planning a relaxing and easy day tomorrow. Spikevax this time and I have previously had pfizer and two AZN
I am wearing an extra layer of clothing this evening, same room temperature but I felt cool. I think I will take some paracetamol soon as I am a side sleeper and my arm will not be comfortable.
I was fine after 2 AZ and 2 Pfizer but the Moderna Spikevax wiped me out. I was exhausted the next day with chills and headache. Only lasted 24 hours thankfully.
I've had 2 astra zenecas and 2 modernas. Not a lot of side effects except a very sore arm after the second moderna and a general crap feeling , nothing specific. You don't really know what is psychosomatic though.
There does not seem to be as much information or published research on the latest 'booster' vaccines. I must admit I am more concerned about having the fourth covid booster because of this, especially if it is Moderna. I have never had flu or covid, though most of my family and friends have had covid. However after having the third covid vaccine and the flu vaccine in the same week I was violently sick for one whole night and then suffered pain in the covid arm and a painful stiff/sore neck neither of which have gone away in 10 months. I now struggle to lift my left arm. Apart from this I have had no illnesses in more than 5 years, not even a cold! I feel confident taking the flu vaccination but honestly am concerned about another covid booster. My first vaccination was Astra Zenica where there were no problems and the other two Pfizer the first being when the sore/stiff arm began. I know vaccinated people who have been very ill with covid and others (including non vaccinated) who have only had mild symptoms so it is now very hard to make decisions without proper scientific research. Does anyone know of any reputable studies?
The upside to getting a side effect is to know that the body is absorbing the vaccine and in training to fight off covid
All 3 of my jabs have been Moderna. All 3 times I have had a fever and extreme sleepiness for 2 to 3 days. I also had a very mild case of "Covid arm", which is essentially just an immune response rash at the injection site. I now switch arms for all vaccines.
I had planned to seek out Moderna again, but may look at Pfizer. I will definitely get it done in a Friday so I can sleep the weekend away. The Astra one isn't available in the US.
I had the Moderna booster exactly two weeks ago. I didn’t get any side-effects other than a very big bruise on the injection site which still hasn’t gone away. My GP advised me to wait a week before having the flu jab - again, no side-effects but the injection itself was unusually painful. I’m ashamed to say I yelped!
I had both vaccine (Covid and Infuenza) , and apart from having 2 sore arms, on the day, nothing since. Lots of people have had a bad reaction to the vaccines!
I had the Moderna one on Monday. I have a sore arm, felt tired and a bit dizzy yesterday - but otherwise fine. That's not much bother compared to ending up in hospital!
Had 4 th jab on 29 th September. My usual arthritic pains were much worse the next day and I could hardly stay awake. Fine after that.
Flu jab on 8 th October. No problems at all.
Did not want to have them both at the same time.
On the basis of these comments I had my booster today. I insisted on Pfizer and feel fine!
I had the Pfizer booster yesterday afternoon, and apart from a slightly tender arm, no other side effects so far! I did feel a bit under the weather after the previous jabs, so feeling lucky so far.
I had the Moderna vaccine as the fourth jab - in the vulnerable group. I was in bed for three days after. I had Covid in February 2020 - it was the worst I have ever felt. The symptoms I experienced after the Moderna jab were the nearest I have come to feeling as I did when I had Covid. My 91 year old mum has breast cancer and vascular dementia. The GP surgery rang last week to arrange her Covid jab - Moderna. I have refused it, because if she has the same symptoms as myself, I fear she won’t survive it.
My joints ached and my glands were swollen but other than that, I have been fine.
I’m in a Moderna vaccine trial and have had either the original Moderna or the next generation multi variant one. (will know which in a couple of weeks)
My vaccine side effects history:
First AZ. awful severe flu like symptoms 36 hours.
Second AZ absolutely fine
Pfizer booster low level fatigue for a week
Moderna trial. Palpitations for a few hours and temperature 48 hours
I’ve had flu vaccines for years and numerous travel vaccines. No side effects other than a sore arm. Covid vaccine is not for the faint hearted!
I had the booster and felt ok on the day. Next day and for a week after ( still now) arm really sore. I’ve had upset stomach shivers and tired. Due flu jab Friday little worried but getting it,
No, none here
Its so strange how our different bodies respond, I dont really understand why. Anyone have an explanation?
I took ill the day after the Moderna booster. Was in hospital for four days, it could have been just a co-incident butI still wonder.
Had Covid and Flu six days apart, Moderna, no effect at all. Sis (a Doctor) says "word on the street) is Moderna less symptoms now than others. But today I went for my Shingles vax and they wouldn't give it till 7 days after the Covid jab. So be warned if you are booking that too.
I had the flu vaccine last week. No problems. The moderna one I had yesterday has wiped me out. So tired and feel cold all the time.
