What time do you eat your dinner/tea?

I have found that since I have grown older I can no longer tolerate eating later than 6 p.m. and that is a light easy to digest meal. A very delicious cheesecake got the better of me last week and I suffered horribly all night. Anyone else in the same position?

I eat my main meal at lunchtime, 1.30pm or thereabouts, sometimes later if I'm busy with a project and a lighter 'tea' in late afternoon/early evening, 5.30 or 6-ish. I never want to cook in the evening and haven't done so for years and only have myself to please. I've dispensed with breakfast as I've realised that I will not die without it.

Between 6 and 7.30.

Breakfast 8am
Lunch 11.45
Evening meal 5 pm no later. My oh would eat earlier if I made it as he's always hungry.
Supper 9.15 (oh)

Depends on who will be eating here, 5ish to 8ish.

Between 6 and 7pm

Anytime between 5.30 and 6 generally. If we are going out for dinner we do try to book an early table.
If we are having people over for dinner we do stretch it to around 7 but that doesn't happen very often.

Main meal at lunch time, 12.00 - 1.00.
Evening meal 6.00 - 7-00

With obvious variations when circumstances require it.

Healthy brunch around 11 then either snack on and off or have something more substantial around 5.and that's it. Like Karmalady, this regime took the weight off gradually and it has never returned. Hallelujah! If I'm lunching out, a tiny kick start earlier than usual and then the lunch will be it for the day. Works well for me. Liberal drinks are consumed throughout the day as welll, of course.

We usually have our main meal around 6.30pm because my husband is still working, I don’t like to eat after 7pm.

karmalady Sat 15-Oct-22 05:56:33

6.30am breakfast. 12pm lunch. 5pm light meal

My body knows that I stop after the last meal and any potential snack craving disappears. This means that I get a `fasting` period every night of around 13 + hours and my weight is purposely going down, very slowly and steadily.

My MiL who is nearly 100 and in excellent health (for her age) says one should breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince but sup like a pauper.
I do it all wrong so will not make 100.

In an hotel usually 8 pm, at home between 6-7 pm. This is the main meal of the day. Don't eat breakfast, lunch usually 12pm-1pm. Very much a night owl so may snack at midnight or later!

Coolgran65 Sat 15-Oct-22 00:27:22

It varies. Generally around 7ish!. We rarely go out in the evening.
Breakfast around 11am. Sandwich about 3.
But we don't go to bed until 12-1am.

cornergran Sat 15-Oct-22 00:14:04

Often cook at lunch time, could eat anywhere between 12 and 2. If it’s evening then between 5 and 6.30. It varies according to the day and what else we may be doing.

Two light meals, one about 1pm, another about 6-8pm, a bit of supper if eaten early, breakfast 7.30- 8am ish.

grumppa Fri 14-Oct-22 22:38:53

Dinner main meal of the day, and usually between 2000 and 2030. If we are eating out we usually book a table for 1930. Sunday lunch may be about 1800.

If we lunch out, evening meal will be just a snack.

Teebles64 Fri 14-Oct-22 22:33:01

7- 7.30
I do the meal prep, watch house of games and then cook the dinner.

Like crazyH I eat when hungry. I had enough of timetables, rushing around and set mealtimes during my working life. I never go to sleep hungry, either - as being sent to bed with no dinner was a childhood punishment. I never did that to my own kids (it's really tough trying to sleep when starving). If I wake up at 3 am, I'll have tea and a sandwich - why not? A series of small meals and snacks suits my digestion.

BigBertha1 Fri 14-Oct-22 22:27:45

Between 6 and 7.

jeanie99 Fri 14-Oct-22 22:19:13

My husband and I eat twice a day so it depends on when we eat breakfast.
I'm never hungry early in the morning.

10.30 - 11 around that time for breakfast and 6 -7 for dinner.
We eat when we are hungry basically.

Jaxjacky Fri 14-Oct-22 21:30:20

Roughly between 7&8, rarely later, unless we’re going out, then it’s about 6. But, tomorrow we have family for lunch about 2, so we won’t eat after that at all.

GagaJo Fri 14-Oct-22 21:24:15

Prefer 8ish, but usually about 6-7 just so I can clear up and put my feet up afterwards.

Hellogirl1 Fri 14-Oct-22 21:17:52

At dinnertime, around 1pm

lixy Fri 14-Oct-22 21:15:20

6.30 pm give or take 10 minutes - has been so for 20+ years! We have our main meal in the evening.

ginny Fri 14-Oct-22 21:13:30

I suppose around 7 ish but it depends what has been happening during the day.
Sometimes around 1pm if we are going out in the evening when it doesn’t involve food.
Nothing set in stone.
