I had mine treated with HALO (haemorrhoidal artery ligation operation. Described as almost painless but not so for me. I couldn't sit comfortably for a month! I wondered why they sent me home with Tramadol, although I chose not to take them! Nevertheless, it was well worth having done.

Had my hemorrhoids done a few years ago and if the physios or nurses have had them done then that is why they may have made faces. Everyone pulls faces.
Please don’t worry, if you need them sorted then my recommendation is make sure you get all the pain relief post surgery that they offer and don’t be brave. ( my bad) and try to keep drinking lots of water.

My consultant is offering a 'stapled haemorrhoidectomy' from which he claims I will recover in a couple of weeks, but a physio and a couple of nurses have made faces when I told them this - implying that it may be a lot longer! Apparently there is the option of laser surgery called 'Rafaelo' which sounds a lot less invasive. Has anyone experience of either of these procedures please?
