thankyou I expect that's it, just taking the pain away has helped, I do feel quite exhausted I have the full-time care of a special needs grandchild too, he's wonderful but needs that bit extra care,

You are probably really low, physically and emotionally- I am sure that can affect your immune system.
What a hard time you must be having - look after yourself, get more rest and I hope your DH continues to improve. flowers

Silly tip (but it worked for me). Cover the soles of your feet with vick. Never heard of it until last year. I usually only stuff it up my nose.

You're not supposed to stuff it up your nose, your nostrils are too delicate supposedly (but I do that too).

Yes, I've heard of the Vick on the soles of the feet tip, do it before you go to bed and wear a pair of warm socks.

My husband started with cold symptoms of our last day in New York 2nd Dec. He still has it, but he has other symptoms which he believes may well be covid. He is still sniffing and blowing his nose! I haven't caught it. He, being a man, won't take a test, even though we bought some before we boarded the Queen Mary 2.

Me too! I had a cough for a week or two, that has now morphed into a full-blown cold, and I’m sipping your namesake, Lemsip!

thanks for replies, don't feel so alone, I'll try the steam inhalations.

I can tell when the house is getting too cold as I get all nasal and choked up... up the temperature and all is well!!
Hope you all feel better soon.

Lemsip - there are so many cold type viruses about. They’re making folks feel really poorly - mine became a chest infection . Two weeks in I’m ok but don’t want anither

So sorry Lemsip 😉 I am the head cold queen ! Never get any other type of cold now. At least you can blow your nose, which should be helping. The only thing that work for me are steam inhalations and decongestion tablets but even then it only decides to clear when it’s good and ready. Hope you feel better soon .

I’m on Day 6 of a stinker of a cold. I haven’t had one for years and had forgotten how horrible it is. After days of constant sneezing and nose blowing, I now have a sore throat and a bit of a headache. I know it’s just working through the stages but I want it gone!

I had an awful cold in october that really laid me low, now ,after having flu jab I have another cold that started with slightly sore throat and now coughing and nose blowing. Thought I would have been immune for a while.

my 'name' is very apt at the moment/
