My varifocal prescription has changed over the years, that would be my concern.

I wear varifocals after a cataract operation but I think CoolCoco wants varifocal lenses in her eyes. We paid £1000 over and above what the insurance company paid for the lenses inserted in my husband’s eyes. These were meant to enable him to see without glasses. All I can tell you is he is now wearing varifocal glasses.

Hi! I am in a similar position to you at the moment and would like to carry on wearing glasses. I had a chat with my optician and she said that it was perfectly possible to have varifocals after a cataract op but it needed to settle for a time. Sadly, where I live we don't have the NHS so I'll need to dig into savings. Could you make enquiries at your opticians or local eye department to see what they say? Good luck!

I know I can't get varifocal lens in a cataract op on the NHS and it has to be private. Has anyone had varifocal lens replacement? Is it worth it? I do normally wear varifocal glasses but now need a cataract op., don't know whether to go with the NHS or dig into the savings.
