Dies anyone have experience of impetigo. My DD is worried about her 7 month old baby.
She has nasty rash diagnosed as impetigo and has flucloxacillin for 10 days.
It's no better and maybe spreading. She will be returning to GP . Any ideas please ?

Need to find out which bacteria is causing it, may need a different antibiotic. Poor baby, it is horribly sore and itchy.

Make sure the baby's towel, flannel etc. are not used by anyone else and ideally put in a hot wash after each use. It spreads like mad so lots of hand washing. Poor baby, I hope things improve soon.

Yes, I echo what's been said above. My daughter brought it home from school and despite plenty of handwashing, I caught it and must have touched the first rash/blisters with my fingers because I woke up the next morning with a 2nd large patch on my leg. It's very contagious.

Camomile tea bags in the bath help soothe the itching.
