For the support, understanding and sharing of mental health issues. All are welcome

Scaredycat Sat 13-May-23 16:05:28

Nadateturbe- what a beautiful view- I would love to visit Ireland too. Glad you,ve got lovely warm weather- cant wait til it’s warm enough to sit outside.
Wyllow- I agree that MH feeling cosy and warm does help. I tend to shiver a lot indoors in the Winter .
Had a little walk this afternoon - so miss being able to walk quickly and further - but enjoyed being out.
It’s good to hear that yesterday you enjoyed some nice times.
Hope your GD enjoys her party tomorrow- she is obviously a popular little girl. Yes keeping in touch in any way is what’s important.
Hope you enjoy your potter day and that you have another lovely sleep tonight.
Doodle- as others have said don’t worry yourself about anything just rest and try and catch up on all your lost sleep.Hope the pain isn’t too bad.
SweetPeaSue- hope you felt well enough to get out today and buy your rooibos tea. Hope you like the taste!!
HVDY- hope you,ve had a happy day with your Son and his girls- I bet they were happy to see you. It’s a bit warmer here today so hope the same for you.
Take care all those mentioned here and everyone who posts or reads

Wyllow3 Sat 13-May-23 10:24:07

Enjoy your family day HVDY

DGC are 11,9,7, and 5 it was the 7yr old. DS tells me she has invited "two of her boyfriends" to her party tomorrow. Early starter.

I slept for an incredible 10 hours - back stiff and hurts to move, but out of critical pain so will have a "light potter" indoor day.

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 13-May-23 08:12:22

SweetpeaSue I find that fruit teas taste better with a sweetener or sugar in them. I found switching to decaffeinated drinks was no problem and they taste the same as ordinary ones.
Nadateturbe What a gorgeous view. I'm glad the weather's good for you. What does an alkaline diet consist of?
Wyllow I hope the painkillers helped. Your neighbour is kind. Nice to chat with your GD. How old is she now?
Doodle You poor thing. I hope it's not the wrist you use most of all.

Going to have the day with Son1 and his girls (not sure where yet because of the weather), not seen the GDs for a few weeks. Hope all BDers have a decent day x

nadateturbe Fri 12-May-23 22:46:22

That's right, Wyllow3 I remember now, that's how I first heard of it. Great books. You were certainly on a high today. You achieved a lot and had a good time.
It's lovely to have neighbours you can turn to for help. I hope the painkillers helped.

I hope following the diet helps Sweetpeasue. Diet sometimes, not always, plays an important part in how you feel, I believe. Incidentally you can get rooibos green tea.

Goodnight all. Hope it's a peaceful one for everyone.

Wyllow3 Fri 12-May-23 22:22:39

Sweetpeasue I like the tea too -drink instead of standard tea sometimes and Whiff right. Also Green tea also in supermarkets
www.healthline.com/nutrition/top-10-evidence-based-health-benefits-of-green-tea

Rooibos is what Mma Precious Ramotswe drinks in The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series of novels by Alexander McCall Smith set in Botswana-delighful light reading.

Sweetpeasue Fri 12-May-23 21:32:30

Oh Whiff thanks for that. Hope you're okx

Whiff Fri 12-May-23 21:18:26

Just a quicky Sweetpeasue supermarkets sell rooibos tea a lot cheaper than health food shops.

Sweetpeasue Fri 12-May-23 21:03:14

Nadateturbe Never heard of that rooibos tea so I did a google and it looks as if it might be ok. If I'm ok tomorrow will have a look at the health shop. I'm hoping when I reintroduce things that it turns out many things I can tolerate. It might not help at all, but when I see Urologist I'll be able to day I've tried.
Sounds lovely where you are. Hope the forecast is good for you tomorrow.
Wyllow Oh no. That back is letting you know it's boss. Think giving gym a miss is a must for now by the sounds of it. Hope Ibuprofen helps.
Doodle You are good at helping others so now you need to take time for yourself. Hope you both sleep well.

nadateturbe Fri 12-May-23 20:02:31

Doodle You would be the first to tell others not to worry about catching up or posting. Just take care of yourself. x

Doodle Fri 12-May-23 19:27:29

Hello all. Still not up to reading much. Will catch up soon I promise. Feeling is coming back in arm and with it pain but not too bad. Very sleepy ant not quite with it.

Hope you’re all ok. Xx

Wyllow3 Fri 12-May-23 19:20:28

Hi nadateturbe yes more "can do's would be nice. But acceptance as you are teaching me is the only way to go. Oh my, what a lovely place! enjoy, have sun...

I share your view of what Sweetpeasue is going through it is so complex but you really need good pain advice so you feel "equipped" and hopefully that will mean less anxiety as fear of pain is disturbing and inhibits any planning possibilities.

Well HVDY the heating has been on here too. I always think that with MH stuff feeling nice and warm enough just does help that bit.

Scaredycat I hope you are managing your little walks still.

So much for a rest.
So*s law operated this afternoon.

I got my hot water bottle all ready and then whatever it was I did - my back re tweaked into so much pain that 2 tramadol and paracetamol didn't touch it. I rung my doc sis. I can of course take diazepam and as a muscle relaxant it helps but take far too much extra atm - she said Ibuprofen. which I dont keep as its not totally tum friendly, but past caring.

Nice ending - I rung my lovely neighbour, we aren't friends but get on really well, and bless her she came round with a full packet and " no need to replace". But still needing an ice pack.

I think what it was, was needing to walk up and down for an hour as per instructions for the barium meal to make things move on.
so - rather high and have done rather a lot but its been nice things. doc sis and I did a fun trawl for local retirement places and she found a great one I hadn't known of (she loves losing things up). I rung an ld friend been meaning to for ages, and a little video call with DGD whose birthday it was. She was mostly squeaky with excitement so it was short but reminded that not seeing them didnt mean "no communications".

However I don't think I should "gym" tomorrow,I really need to try and bring forward the physio - if possible, as its clearly something I cant keep ignoring. And come down from this high!

Doodle it must be so hard - how are you coping?

Allsorts, fwiw, I agree about having another go on the anti-depressants. You've thought about it long and hard and responsibly.

Best wishes BD's take best care.

nadateturbe Fri 12-May-23 19:20:10

Sweetpeasue did anyone mention rooibos tea. It won't help, but I think it wouldn't upset your body. It's very mild. I've drunk it for years. Perhaps Google it. I drink it with milk. Never drink 'normal' tea.
*HVDY& and ScaredycatCan't believe you two had heating on. We're sitting outside in beautiful sun, so hot.
Maybe aqua aerobics will give you the confidence to try swimming again HVDY.

Sweetpeasue Fri 12-May-23 19:07:46

Scaredycat It was cold here too, 8deg. My GP is on Monday so need to ask if she has last Urologist letter as hes discharging me and referring me to this other Urol. I'm thinking the new one might need his letter of referral with info about me. If not I'll just go ahead and make appt. He has a clinic in a couple of weeks time. Thanks Scaredy.
HVDY I'm on East coast and been foggy with cold sea fret so hope your son has better weather from today. I'm trying to follow Interstial Cystitis Association elimination diet. Apparently they say no decaf either, or carbonated drinks. It's going to be v hard. Have got some Pukka teas and not v nice.
Nadateturbe That view is so beautiful. We've never been to Ireland and always wanted to go. My pain has gone now but crossing fingers. Hoping my alkaline diet might make a difference tonight.

Doodle Hope you're both managing ok and perhaps have some help. Not sure which wrist it is but hope it's not the one you use most.

Hope all BDs have a peaceful night.

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 12-May-23 17:08:57

Wyllow You must have been glad to get the barium meal over with. Hpe you've had a good rest

Allsorts Could you perhaps see a different GP and ask for antidepressants?

nadateturbe It's a shame your daughter won't be visiting this year. Good that you're able to get away for a break, though.

SweetpeaSue It's awful that you have all that pain. I drik decaffeinated teas and coffee, as well as low-calorie tonic water or lemonade, or fruit teas. Anything is worth a go.

ScaredyCat My husband taught me to swim, on a week's holiday in Cyprus, several years ago. I've since lost my nerve but would be perfectly able to swim if I could try. I enjoyed aqua aerobics but could tell I hadn't been recently - I felt quite tired afterwards. I put the heating on for an hour earlier.

It's been a grey day here today. Hope Son2 and his GF are having better weather - they've gone o the east coast today, on a Haven holiday, until Tuesday. Hope all BDers have a relaxing evening. x

nadateturbe Fri 12-May-23 17:05:36

View of Mournes from Meelmore Lodge Newcastle. My husband took this from inside.

Scaredycat Fri 12-May-23 16:42:04

Doodle- glad you,re back home and hope you can get some rest while you recover from the op. Hope too DH is managing all right.
SweetPeaSue- so sorry you have had such bad pain- you can’t go on like this. Why can’t anyone help you? If you can you must self refer if possible . Hope you get some respite today.
Allsorts- Hope giving yourself a break will rest both your mind and body. Maybe get out in the air to help you sleep.
HVDY- hope you enjoyed Aqua Aerobics this morning. Are you able to swim afterwards or is that difficult for you. What a lovely meal yesterday- the lunch club must be very popular.
Wyllow- bet you,re glad that’s over- not the most pleasant way to spend a couple of hours!! Good idea to pop into Gym and have some company for a while.
Nadaturbe- enjoy your time at the caravan - hope the sun is shining. It’s freezing here and we had to put the heating on for a while to warm up. Ah you must be disappointed that your daughter can’t be with you.
Whiff, Candy,EllieAnne, Nanny, Sallyyy, and everyone thinking of you.

nadateturbe Fri 12-May-23 16:13:48

Sweetpeasue I'm so annoyed that you are being left to suffer like this. xx

Sweetpeasue Fri 12-May-23 16:06:52

Allsorts No need to reply to all. Having constant nights of not sleeping and worrying is exhausting physically and mentally. It's the loneliest place to be when all around is quiet and you are alone with endless tormenting worries. Hope tonight is better for you. Its alright not to feel sociable if your mind needs that rest.
HVDY Hope you had some fun at Aqua aerobics. No sun here today. Foggy and drizzle. One v watery cup of tea early morning and water after that.
Wyllow What a long time its taken this morning. Hope the results don't take long. I think it would be hard to lose that Gym as you've friends there and it's become part of your life. Hope your snooze was refreshing.
Nadateturbe It's a shame your daughter can't be with you this time. We miss our family, I think, as they lead their own busy lives. Hope the sun makes an appearance there.Look forward to your photo. I'm afraid another bad day for me. The rich-tea biscuit helped.

Needed loo every hr through night. By 5.30 pain severe, came down DH filled hot water bottle and took oramorph then ibuprofen. Eased a bit after hr but came back so Tramadol. I try not to get into a state but natural to resist. Just snoozed rest of day.DH dropped off Birthday card for GS's birthday tomorrow.

Do hope Doodle is ok. x

nadateturbe Fri 12-May-23 15:00:22

Goodness Wyllow3 that doesn't sound like a pleasant experience, glad for you that it's over. A bit of company at the gym is a good idea.
You seem to be working things out well regarding the way ahead. And sounding very positive. McCarthy and Stone developments sound good. But I think you would want to investigate the idea more..
And wasn't it lovely of your friend to offer support, so reassuring.
Candy ITVx is free, but you can pay a small fee to have it ad free. I'm glad you sleep well now, it makes such a difference.
Doodle how are you, how are you managing? How is husband?
Allsorts sometimes time out is a good idea. If you're busy life can get confusing and tiring. Stopping for a bit can be really helpful. Maybe some nice lone walks in the fresh air. It's a shame you can't get antidepressants. Scaredycat is finding them useful. Perhaps try again?
HVDY enjoy your aqua aerobics, wish it was me 🙂.
Hello Scaredycat and EllieAnne. Hope your day is OK.
Sweetpeasue how are you?

Why are at the caravan. I'm going to see if I can post a photo in a while, need a screen break.
A bit down, daughter isn't coming this year.

Wyllow3 Fri 12-May-23 13:18:18

Wave to *HVDY for the aqua home now heading for the duvet and no glance to "to-do's"

How will you manage Doodle - any help available? all such a shock.

Wyllow3 Fri 12-May-23 11:26:24

Hi Allsorts fine not to comment on all I don’t when I’m all in or poorly. I hope your plan works out, sounds a good thing to try out, not ‘having’ to be sociable.

I’m at gym recovering probably won’t do anything but I needed company.

Last night tbh I gave up being sleepless and took extra meds not a brill thing but best option.

I was actually in-for 2.25 hours, some people have to wait for 4, drinking chalk. When they said I could go I said ‘yay’ and they laughed. But they had me walking up and down to get it all moving so done my ‘steps for the day’.

I can’t see posts above as on mobile but will be back in later meanwhile all the best all and thinking of you all what with pain, AF, wrists, CFS, and poorly minds!

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 12-May-23 08:28:32

Doodle Hope you managed to get some sleep and that you'll have some help with things at home.
Wyllow Your Quakers lady sounds very kind. Hope all goes well for you this morning.
SweetpeaSue Cutting out some things from your diet is worth trying. I hope it works, or at least helps a bit.
ScaredyCat, Candy, Nadateturbe, EllieAnne, Whiff and others - hope you're all ok.

Not much happening here today - aqua aerobics this afternoon, and a bit of shopping. Nice day at the day centre yesterday, roast beef lunch and then gateau smile. Hope all BDers have a bit of sunshine x

Allsorts Fri 12-May-23 05:53:23

Read all your posts and hope you don't mind but can't comment on every one, but I'm thinking of youall. Hope your wrist is on the mend Doodle
So much crowding my head at the moment, health wise it's one step forward and then back and don't seem to carry any task out properly, taking a break from going out socially for a week or so to get on top of things and don't think I'm good company anyway. Be good if I could sleep if a night instead of
worrying.

Wyllow3 Thu 11-May-23 23:48:02

I so will.

nadateturbe Thu 11-May-23 22:45:51

Doodle so glad your over op. Take care. Sending hugs.
Wyllow3 all the best for tomorrow. Hope you can manage to clear your head, relax and sleep.
Sweetpeasue hope my biscuit suggestion helps. I hate giving advice. Having said that, I hope if you're in too much pain you will go to A&E. I'm so sorry you are suffering so much.
Will answer everyone tomorrow.

Hoping for a good night for everyone. And remembering you in ny prayers.
