Good news .... they do not know what the lump is and would only be able to tell by excision and biopsy. However they are convinced it is not malignant and she is to keep an eye on it and go back if it changes in any way. Phew!

Great news!

Primrose53 - sending good wishes for your appointment.

Hopefully my DD's lump will just be a benign lipoma. I am glad that they are getting on with things and she is on the 2 week pathway.

Luckygirl , my older brother had ‘cancer’ of the jaw. He was older than your daughter, about 57, I think. The tumour was removed, along with a part of the jaw. He had a prosthesis, very much like a denture. He lived for a long time after that. However, he was a functioning alcoholic, which resulted in cirrhosis of the liver, and that took him, when he was about 69. Your daughter will have the best treatment, which I’m sure will be successful and she will go on to live a long and happy life. I wish her, you and all the family, all the best flowers

luckygirl as if you did not have enough to worry about! The NHS appears to be really good re the 2 week rule. I was seen well within the time. I was lucky, mine was negative-a mole at the top of my femur which was changing size and colour.

I hope she went to her GP as soon as she realised she has a problem.

Sister had very nearly the same and had a sarcoma piece removed off her face day surgery. She’s fine. Hope all goes well for your daughter.

Just to say I hope everything is done speedily with a good outcome.
I can’t help but wanted to send best wishes.
She is being seen quickly and of course you will all worry, it is natural.

Someone mentioned sarcomas at PMQT today but I can’t remember what they said other than that you can get sarcomas in any part of the body. How worrying for you. Yet another reason why it’s important that people have access to dental check ups. Fingers crossed that whatever it is they’ve caught it really early. We never stop worrying about our children do we…flowers

My DD, aged 40, has just rung to say that the ultrasound that she had yesterday of the small lump on her jaw has come back very speedily. GP says that she is referring her to the sarcoma clinic under the two week rule.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I am trying not to worry .......
