CPAP and flying

I am flying from UK to Finland on Friday.
My understanding was that as long as you had a CPAP passport, it would be treated as vital medical equipment and not counted as hand luggage.
I'm flying out with Air Baltic, back with Ryanair, and booked the flights via OPODO.
Ryanair say they have to have 48hrs notice via their special assistance team. Is this only if you need to use the machine on board?
Spoke with Ryanair, who couldn't help as I haven't received flight numbers from OPODO.
Rang OPODOs customer service, where a robot told me that there was nothing a support agent could tell me that wasn't on their website.
Their website is a nightmare of circling back and forth, then being told to call customer assistance.
I'm tempted to just take my machine and deal with it at the airport.
I'm also worried as I have no flight numbers, no one has asked for my passport number, and despite emails saying I can check in, I can't due to the above.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
My biggest confusion is the apparent need for some airlines to be given notice, as I'm finding it impossible to do so.
Do airlines only want this if you need to use your machine on the plane?
I just need to take mine in its bag on a short flight uk Finland

Hope it all goes ok with your flights.
We find Ryanair a nightmare and give it a miss. DD’s wheelchair was counted as her medical aid and we had to pay to take other (essential) aids. Rip off merchants.

My husband took his CPAP machine last year on our trip to mainland Spain. We had no problem, went through security with the machine in its own bag with other luggage. Unless they have since changed their rules, we did not have to declare the machine beforehand. Best of luck on your journey.

My husband received his CPAP machine yesterday so it’s all new to us. Any tips very welcome. He hopes to set it up this afternoon.
