Would like to know if you have elevated CRP levels, confirmed by hospital discharge notes sent to GP 2 months ago, duty pharmacist phoned me beginning of July - said he would make referral to GP to book blood test. I queried why a duty pharmacist would do this who is not my regular pharmacist - He politely explained that this was now a triage course of action for anyone who had had a hospital discharge notice? I haven't rec'd or missed any phone calls from the practice; recovering from fall and due to my lethargy, I hadn't chased this up... Beginning of this week did try to phone GP to see when the blood test appt was - asked receptionist if I had a pending blood test appt? She said nothing on screen but would ask Duty GP to phone me. Rec'd phone call from new GP to me at phoned to ask me why I was asking for a blood test re CRP markers...he also asked when did i have pain!!!! Trying to be polite said Every Day and wakes me up in middle of sleep during night..chronic pain...Honestly, did he not read my record of medical conditions nor pain management..was flabbergasted he was asking me 'silly ??s'
So my question is -* how often do you need repeat testing?*
This GP said finally oh yes, i think you should have a blood test..He would arrange with reception and they would call...
Waited 3 days no call so physically went to surgery today..yes its on my screen notes that need full bloods... is arranged for later this month AND another note on screen said to have a face-to-face with GP about results...sounds a bit ominous but I have got the face to face with my preferred GP who knows me well and all my medical history....a very quietly spoken GP who shows empathy and understanding of pain - can't wait for appt
It seems you have to be your own Advocate -Thanks for reading...
Are you in your forever house?
Belfast another appalling attack, we need to ask what is driving this.
