Nadateturbe- glad your fingers ok now. It’s always amazing how much blood can come out of the smallest cut. Are you on blood thinners ? I am and so am really careful with knives but
forget in the garden and I,m always scraping my legs!!
How wonderful you got to Belfast - I love being in a strange city but I expect you know Belfast well. You are right our world definitely shrinks as we age but we mustn’t let it if possible.
Have you done another card today? Do you do them in watercolour?
SweetPeaSue- I don’t give anything away on the phone you were right. It is so hard sometimes to talk to somebody whose English is unclear and you don’t want to sound rude by keep saying Pardon!!

EllieAnne- that was a bit of a nightmare journey but you got there in the end. I do hope you,ve had some happy moments with your DD.Make sure you have drinks etc for the return journey- it,ll probably be fine though. As long as you’re dressed warmly it’s freezing today.
HVDY- what a good day you had yesterday . You are a wonder knocking up a lasagne at the end of it !!! It’s so lovely how your new Grandaughter has so many people who love her and l8ke to be with her. I,m happy for you.

I too used to drive many miles when I was younger - to and from Europe. Now I worry whether I,ll be able to park where I,m going!! You,d think we’d be more confident with all our life’s experience but it doesn’t seem to work like that.😩

Doodle- I think you,ve had so much hassle lately it’s a bit of overload. I get very stressed sometimes ordering online and hoping I,ve done it right. I always feel so clever when it actually arrives!,
Maybe you could do with a supplement of some kind to build you up a bit. Do you have to go back for a pacemaker check up at all?
It has been so cold today hasn’t it - I even chickened out of a walk . DH is never cold and played Golf!! So instead had a 2 hour FaceTime with my sister. Her daughter is having a cardioverter defibrillator implanted tomorrow so naturally she is feeling concerned.

Yesterday was a day of upsetting phone calls. One of my DiL told me her BiL who has just had a pre op scan for heart surgery was found to have liver cancer. He is such a nice man and has waited so long for this surgery. Then my Step daughter told us her partners Mum had just died. Later in the day I heard the news that my friends lovely daughter had passed away in the night - she leaves a husband and young children, so unbearably sad. We have to hug our children at every opportunity don’t we.

SweetpeaSue I think MH problems always seem to be worse at night. I've had a few bad dreams lately. Worrying about GDs, Christmas, money (lack of it), SIL, etc., although none of it is in my control - I hope you get to speak to someone tomorrow and get sorted out with some ADs that suit.

HVDY It's amazing to get recordings of your fox's visit like that. I'm glad he's still coming. The weather has turned so much colder now your fox will look forward to the '5star' offerings.

Had such a bad night. Woke in early hrs and feeling so scared about lack of care. The centre for MH patients has several trainee people and nurses yet there's nothing set up for me as in reg appts. I haven't seen the MH nurse v much ,just occasionally. Left with a crisis no. I'll ring this centre place tomorrow about anti-depressants. Felt frightened in the night but getting my head around it a bit now. Such terrible dreams, DH had to wake me a few times. Sorry to moan.

I can understand being nervous walking around in the city. We quickly get out of the habit of things when we’re not doing them every day.

sweetpeasue I’m sure I am run down. I think all in all with the pacemaker and then straight into DH in hospital has taken its toll. I’m glad you’ve got an appointment but 4 weeks is a long time specially so close to Christmas. Hope you can sort something out.

nadateturbe I was starving! I hadn't eaten since I had Weetabix at 8am (the blokes all had sausage sandwiches for lunch). I drank 1/2 a bottle of wine with my lasagne then fell asleep for an hour . I agree that sometimes we lose confidence with age/lack of doing things. I used to drive a lot of miles a few years ago, but don't feel very confident now - definitely not in the dark.

DH had a letter today to say he's being referred to an Endocrinologist. Hope it won't be too long.

Going to feed the fox and get to bed. Night, all BDers x

Doodle meant to say, yes it felt strange walking through the city centre alone. I used to do the train journey daily to work. I think when we are older we do less and eventually lose confidence or something I'm not sure what. And our world shrinks. The pandemic has made it happen even more. I'm not sure I've explained it properly.

HVDY you got home at almost 5pm and were able to make a lasagne for dinner. You would have been eating a very late dinner in my house! But another lovely family day for you! Lucky lady.
Sweetpeasue yes, odd asking for pet name. I'm very nervous about sharing information now.
I think that is a long time to wait for an appointment with nothing to take in between. Can you maybe contact the psychiatrist's secretary and ask to be considered for a cancellation.

I got a reply through my MP from the neurologist. He didn't apparently get my letter in August, but answered this one very quickly, and it was a satisfactory response and offered another f2f appointment.

Doodle You've had so much to cope with lately and you could be run down , hence the cough starting. You're only just starting to get used to pacemaker then all the worry and back and fro to hospital. I hope you get a quiet and relaxing weekend. Yes those robot chats are useless. The lady from talktalk didn't speak English clearly either. She wanted me to use a password for easier future contact. She asked me what my family 'pet name' was! I thought it wrong that a stranger should expect to know something so personal but perhaps I'm 'out of touch'.
Nadateturbe I've not been on a train since I was 20! Sure that makes me v odd indeed. I'm glad you enjoyed such a lovely day meeting up with friends. I think I'd feel strange in a city alone, but yes, good. Sometimes we never know what we can do till we do it.

Feeling quite low today . I got an appt for psychiatrist through post to discuss antidepressants for 22nd Dec. Am I expecting too much, but that's 4 weeks away and I need something to help me sooner than that. Really floundering. Will ring the centre on Monday.

DH and I went to Son2's at 11 - the 2 of them were doing some job outside. Son1 and his eldest daughter came round - she's marvellous with the baby, and she's staying there tonight - so all 3 men were working outside. Just got home, going to make a lasagne for tea. Hope ALL BDers have a cosy evening x

Sweetpeasue definitely stick with your old knives imo. Finger is OK as far as I can tell. Will take a while. I think I would have fainted at sons face covered in blood.
Doodle Glad the pain is easing. Hope the cough goes away. Don't ignore if it doesn't. I too stick to one painkiller in 6 hours.

Big news...I went to Belfast on the train today and met some friends for lunch. I haven't been on a train for 3 years. Actually felt strange doing it but good. Felt relieved walking up my little street when I got home.. Will have to get out more.

Scaredycat the pain is getting easier with me not doing much which is a relief but I have started a dry cough. Trying to suppress it as I don’t want to hurt my ribs.
Nice to get out and about this time of year. I love autumn.
HVdY yes I’ve got stuff for my shoulder but I think it’s just rest that will do the most good.

Sweetpeasue yes I am taking cocodamol. Only one about every 5 to 6 hours now as the pain is wearing off. Oh goodness tell your DH to be careful. We don’t want any more acccidents.
I find i can’t cope with hassle at the moment either. I’ve been trying to order a present for my DGD online and the problems trying to set it all up. In the end I had one of those auto chat things with a robot. They are so useless I don’t know why firms use them other than to fob you off.

Nadateturbe Ooh, sounds a bit gory. Think I might have fainted- I'm a bit flakey when it comes to a lot of blood. Son2 once came back after football with face covered in it.Good thing DH was there as I passed out on sofa. Hope finger is looking OK today. Your DH might have to do some veg chopping for some time. DH said we could do with new knives but I'll stick with mine for now.
EllieAnne Oh dear you poor thing. It must have been so cold today waiting around too. You thought you might have trouble.I hope it's better coming back.Son2 has had a lot of problems with the strikes, getting to Aberdeen for his work. Hope you have a nice time with your DD.

Well it wasn’t a good journey. The Scottish bit was fine . 2 trains both on time. Got to Preston next train was cancelled. Had to wait an extra hour then it was late. Dd said she would be finished work and meet me.Announced on train that because it was so late they were missing out some stations and one was mine. So folk for these stations had to get off early and wait at another station for a train that stopped every where. I was panicking by then and had a silent migraine and zigzag line’s going everywhere. No rail workers in sight so I just waited with everyone and a train did come. Kept updating dd and eventually got to Bradford. Dd met me so I didn’t need to get bus.
When I was waiting at Preston trains were late and being cancelled all the time. Dreadful service.

HVDY So glad fox is still visiting. You are giving him/her an amazing nightly feast. Actually I realise our new contract wasn't so bad as our original one (with same requirements as yourself) was going to rise to£35. DH will settle it tomorrow. I really hate all this sales stuff.
Nadateturbe Haha yes, better than toast indeed. The Christmas Dinner at son's will be 2nd week Dec. I just hope my pain behaves itself that day. Sleep well.

Finger's fine I think thanks HVDY. Your fox sounds lovely, I wish we could see him. I just got a new draining mat with foxes on it. We often do a click and collect, but it's nice to go in the shop for a few things.
