DH had another bad night. He is now not going for his operation as they think he’s not well enough. He has another (or the same) chest infection and needs more IV antibiotics and is back on oxygen. It may be some time before he has the op in which case I will be pushing to take him home.

Scaredycat Your poor DIL. The treatment is unpleasant, but I hope she won't have much more of it, and that it's successful. Chubby Chops was a delight, as usual.
Sweetpeasue So sorry about all your pain. Hope you manage to get through to the GP and get an appointment, for yourself AND your husband. How did the psychology session go? SIL's care home has to pass a hygiene inspection - deep cleaning has to be done in these places (and hospital wards) when they have an outbreak of Norovirus.
Doodle You must be absolutely worn out. I hope the new hospital gets things sorted soon. Is it nearer to where you live?
Candy6 You have such a busy life. I suppose a lot of people got used to working from home. My Son2 still does but goes into the office once a fortnight or so. Did you go for lunch/coffee with your friend?DH did a roast beef dinner. 5 vegetables, roast potatoes, all the lot. DIL's daughter (13) has an eating disorder, only eats meat, carrots (no other veg) and mash, although she didn't touch ANY last night. (she ate the chocolate fudge cake though).

Little Chubby Chops is cutting 2 teeth. She's also apparently very constipated, so was screaming when she tried to "go". Son got some baby Lactulose from the pharmacy last night. (I'd never heard of that for babies - I used to stew some apples for my babies). Hope ALL BDers manage to have a decent day x

Candy I’m the same with my husband. I have to repeat everything and turn Tv down when he leaves the room. So if it’s not important I don’t bother speaking. He has hearing aids but says they are uncomfortable so doesn’t wear them.

I'm so sorry things are so bad for you and your husband. I hope the GP has something constructive to say tomorrow and is helpful. It's good that it's F2F although I don't understand why you have to join a queue when he wants to see you.

No phone calls. My children know I sometimes am too tired.

Nadaterturbe I did sleep ok thank you and wasn’t so tired today. My friend uses the magnesium cream. I take it orally. I hope you managed a nice chat with your son and daughter. Typical isn’t it that they both want to speak to you on the same day!
HVDY hope you had a nice meal with your family. What did you eat? Something nice I bet. I’ve got daughter and MiL coming on Thursday. Nice to see them but MiL is quite a fussy eater and daughter a veggie. A challenge! I hope chubby chops is ok.
Scaredycat yes, will try and persuade my husband. He doesn’t hear the timer on the oven going off, he really needs to do something. Sometimes, I just can’t be bothered telling him things as I just know im going to have to repeat myself and if im tired, I just can’t face that. My dad had a hearing problem and it’s like going through all that again. There are worse things though I know but it can be frustrating.
Sweetpeasue glad your pain has been a bit better today and I hope you feel that your appointment with the psychologist went well yesterday. Good luck with you both getting a GP appointment tomorrow.
Doodle good to hear from you. Try not to worry too much about the specialist hospital. It’s not necessarily more serious, it’s just that they are more used to dealing with specific issues there and your husband will get the best care possible. Try to see that as a positive. I hope you get some proper rest.

My day was less busy, but still busy. Not so long ago i was able to work 1 day in the office and 1 from home, which was better but I have to have some more training now so have to go in. I just want to get that done so I can work from again. Had a nice few hours with my friend and then home to watch the 2nd part of silent witness. I don’t watch much tv, but I’ve enjoyed that. Sleep now. Childcare day tomorrow. Special thoughts to Wylllow and Doodle. Love to everyone else. Night all xx

Dear all. Sorry to be missing so much. The days are long and tiring and all I want to do when I get home is sleep.
DH is probably being transferred to another hospital for specialist care. We are both scared and worried but praying for a good outcome.

Gosh your hearing must have been really bad to not hear the microwave. It will be so different for you now. And your husband. I bet he was indeed glad to be listening at normal volume! I hadn't thought of that. And not having to talk loudly to you, or repeat things, which is very tiring,
I remember you saying about your friend. It must be sad for you to watch her changing. My friend is repeating things a bit like, Did I tell you..xxxx...? And repeating this maybe every few sentences and also not as confident. She's usually very assertive. It's a bit sad. Nothing we can do except keep in touch as much as possible and be company..

Candy I hope you weren't too busy and have energy to enjoy meeting your friend tonight.

Candy The work you do must be really full on at times. Hope you were right and it wasn't as busy today. Have a good evening with your friend. Could really identify with appreciating things more after they've been taken away from you. It's so true.
Doodle I really hope you get some news today about your DH's discharge date, but also that the infection is getting better. Hospital can be such a depressing place to be and you must be worn out . Is there a quiet place to go like a Chapel when you want some peace and privacy?
Find myself thinking about you often during the day and just wishing you and DH strength.
Scaredycat Hope you soon get used to the louder sounds. We have some very noisy sparrows in our hedge outside so that's the sort of birdsong you wouldn't want. They squabble all the time! Not sure if you have said you have tinnitus so hoping the other sounds will drown that out for you but don't know if it works like that. Oh you have so many fam members to worry about. I hope your DIL is coping with the chemotherapy. You must be concerned for your neice too. Hope she got on OK in the MRI scanner. I wasn't able to take aunt out but I've kept in touch by phone.
HVDY* That's such a long time for the home to be closed to visitors. What investigation is it having? It's awful when your SIL has Dementia and she can't see her DH for so long.Cruel really. Hope your nephew can get home soon. What a lot he's had to face. Have a nice time tonight with your family dinner and little baby.

No better on pain front and having longer episodes but a bit better today. 1st Psychology session yesterday morning. Managed that but bowel pain bad on afternoon with constant trips to bathroom. DH BP still high with 3 BP meds and Statin. He's had headaches so we're both trying for GP appt tomorrow. He told DH he wanted to see me about my extra pain. Great news on that front. Receptionist told me, with serious voice, this ('our') GP is * only* doing F2F appts now! Joining phone queue tomorrow.

Nadateturbe- lovely to see old friends isn’t it- that’s a long friendship. One of my oldest friends is the same and each time we see her is so precious as her memory is slipping away.
Can’t believe how noisy the world is !! I heard my microwave ping this morning for the first time for so long- what excitement.
Hope yesterdays meet up hasn’t worn you out too much but I,m sure you think it was worth it.
Candy- what a kind empathetic post for Doodle- we all care so much about her and her husband.

A big family is lovely but we are so spread about - there is never a dull moment - either worrying or not. You,re right we must focus on good times .
Tell your DH - the hearing aids would help him. My DH was a happy Bunny last evening with the TV sound down to normal levels again!!
Don’t forget to rest when you can - you work so hard.
HVDY- yes GGS1 can eat pretty normally but obvs has to be careful sometimes. He is very conscientious about it- thank goodness.
I don’t know how many sessions of Chemo DiL will have to have but know she is having the maximum dose each time.
Glad your legs are more comfortable - a plus for the cold weather.
What a huge Op for your nephew it takes some courage to leave the hospital after something like that. Hope too Your SIL can have visitors soon she must be bewildered.
Enjoy your meal together - lovely Chubby Chops will be there.

ScaredyCat I'm glad your little GGS is doing well. Is he able to eat much normal food? Hope your niece's MRI goes well - very noisy machines. I hope your DIL's chemo goes well, too. Has she got to have many sessions? She'll be relieved when it's over with. My legs aren't too bad, thanks. The burning sensation is always there, but isn't so bad in this weather (heat worsens it). My aqua aerobics friend (62) has got hearing aids, says she hears everything.

My brother still hasn't been able to see his wife (last saw her 22nd Dec), the home apparently has to have an inspection before it can open again. His son had part of a lung, and some lymh nodes, removed last Thursday, hasn't been able to go home yesterday but might today. Son2 and his family are going to come for dinner this evening (Chubby Chops will have her own food). Hoe ALL BDers manage to have a decent day x

Doodle I’m so sorry you’ve not had a date for DH to return home. So disappointing. A good rest in his own home would do him the world of good I’m sure. I remember spending a long time in hospital with my son and the longing I felt just to be home and do ‘normal’ things like sleep in your own bed, use your own bathroom etc. was enormous. I used to be able to see a big field outside his hospital window and thought how great it would be to be out in the fresh air walking my dogs. You tend to appreciate those things more when they are taken away from you. You will get there, as we did, and feel comforted just being there. Stay strong my friend.

Nadaterturbe sounds like you had a nice meet up with your son and GS. I’m not a big film buff but my son and his GF are. They have an annual membership and go a lot so it’s worth it. Sounds like you had a good meet up with your friend. Spending time with her must be precious. I’m meeting up with a friend tomorrow evening. Haven’t seen her for a few months so a lot to catch up on.
HVDY I’m glad you got excused from jury service. Must be a weight off your mind.
Scaredycat it must be a worry for you over your family members. It’s important to try and distract sometimes though and try to live life the best you can. Difficult sometimes though I realise. I’m sure you’re hearing aids will be a big bonus to you. My DH needs them really, although he’s not ready to admit it yet unfortunately. Drives me mad sometimes.
Ellie Anne sorry things are difficult again but at least you have your activities to look forward to and living by the beach must be a bonus too. Do nice things for yourself, treat yourself often, doesn’t have to be extravagant, just something you enjoy.

You're right of course, we mustn't waste our time. It's precious. I met a friend at a Dobbies today. Really pleasant afternoon. Her memory is not the greatest, so I want to spend time with her when possible. We've been friends for almost 70 years. I'm sure I'll pay for it tomorrow. But worth it.
I'm sure noise seems magnified now with your hearing aid. It's good you're wearing it. Many people don't who should. The good thing is you can switch it off when it's too noisy!

Doodle- So sorry to hear that you still have to wait for DH to come home- what an upsetting day you have had. We are all concerned for you both and send you love and please know that you are in all our thoughts.
EllieAnne- this is no way to live- it seems like your husband has no conception of the continual stress you are suffering. You must long to be able to talk it out with him- your health is suffering with it all . It,ll be nice to get out and about again but keep warm and see after yourself.
HVDY- glad the family are well and that you had a nice lunch together. As you know we have a big family but very spread out. Most are well thanks. My niece has another health problem as well as her heart- mri next week. One DiL is having very strong Chemo but is dealing very well with it- such a brave little person. GGS1 who has Crohns is doing well thank goodness. There is always someone to worry about.

Nadateturbe- it’s hard to ignore all that is going on isn’t it- how we all wished for brighter World news. I love films but haven’t been to the cinema for ages- we must start again.
I too am longing for Spring already- I HATE Winter but try to enjoy each day as we mustn’t wish our life away- especially at my age!!!

I,ve been to have a hearing aid fitted today- talk about feeling old😩 I cannot believe how loud everything sounds now- I didn’t realise how much noise there is!!! I could hear ok but not high frequency noises in particular. Haven’t heard morning bird song for years for example.
