Cataract surgery problems

Had mine done on 7th December. It took well over an hour so the anaesthetic wore off mid operation. Had to have an injection in the eye. Yikes. Don’t feel sorry for me. I need urgent dental treatment and I just couldn’t face it, but now? Could it be any worse?

I’m on steroid drops and antibiotic cream at home for a month as they are closed Christmas and New Year. My eye was very red and swollen for about a week. It’s well settled now and I’m reassured it will recover

I imagine your optician is just being cautious and there’s nothing to worry about. I do hope so.

I had problems with the first one as the anesthetic didn’t go deep enough and it was a bit of a nightmare but the second one went a dream except the drops they gave me to use for two or three weeks afterwards caused me horrible side effects so I only used then ten days under drs orders instead of three weeks, otherwise everything was brilliant
Sounds as if you might have a little infection I hope all goes well with your forthcoming appointment

I had a cataract operation about 6 weeks ago. Result was amazing and no problems , but my follow up appointment at Opticians has shown inflammation and referred me back to hospital, Anyone else had this ?
