Gingster

I think my DD might have it. She was on cancer treatment (immunotherapy and steroids ) for over a year and has been in pain ever since coming off the meds. She is due to see a rheumatologist. Could this cause fibromyalgia?

I've learned to cope with the discomfort, but the sporadic, shattering episodes of weariness are terrible. Overall, I remain quiet about this condition. Because I look so good, I believe if I complained about it, friends and relatives would assume it was all in my head.

Thanks for sharing experiences - will look up complex regional pain . Some have mentioned meds that help - I am not too happy with taking meds - what have people taken to help? I know that steroids are needed for polymyalgia but that's different. I take Zapain. But it doesn't seem to touch it.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia some thirty years ago. Probably caused by stressful life events.
I've learned to live with the pain, but find the intermittent, shattering bouts of fatigue difficult. It's a condition I keep quiet about on the whole. Because I look so well, if I were to complain about it, I think friends and family would think it was all in the mind.
There are Fibromyalgia support groups. Look online if you are interested OP. Best wishes.

I have some similar conditions going on and have been told it may have been caused by trauma.

Cancer treatment really takes its toll physically for some people, I know, but autoimmune conditions are a possibility, I'm sure.

Yes I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. My rheumatologist said it often runs alongside RA which I've had for many years. The fatigue bothers me the most as the pain usually respond to medication. Hope you get some help with your symptoms.

Have you been diagnosed ❓
Look up complex regional pain syndrome and compare symptoms

Anyone feel they have fibromyalgia - or been diagnosed? I feel I may have developed the condition triggered by surgery - a knee replacement. Weakness, general fatigue, whole-body aches and pains and stiffness.
