Been to pharmacist this morning. She said bathing with salt water is probably the best but did sell me some golden eye ointment. Tiny tube costing over £15!

Go to your optician and ask him to look at the eye so you are sure it is ok

Yes I second asking the pharmacist for advice as it could be anything. Warm slightly salty water in an eye bath and a warm clean flannel may help in the mean time....and won't hurt.

Ask your pharmacist. I'm sure they could help.

I had both cataracts removed, the last one being early November. Had the lenses that mean I don't need to wear glasses all the time . However I have a slightly sore eye, I think its the eye itself and not the eyelid but not quite sure. I'm using some drops for dry eyes which I used to use when I wore contact lenses but is there anything over the counter which you think might help. I remember my mum using golden eye ointment on styes but I don't suppose you can buy that now.
