Can you untrap a trapped nerve?

I have what I assume to be a trapped nerve in my elbow, running down to my little finger. I get a cold feeling running down from the elbow to the end of my finger, and it can be painful to the touch if I catch it in a particular way. It's intermittent, so not an injury and there's nothing to see at all.

I don't know what has caused it, but I knit a lot and wonder if that could have something to do with it. If there's a way of repairing it without giving up knitting, that would be great. It's gone on for months now, so I don't think it's going to go away on its own. All suggestions welcome, please?

Oh rats! that should be 'untrap an trapped nerve'. I am so sick of autocorrect.

I wonder if acupuncture would help, Doodledog?

Consult a chiropractor - he or she probably can help.

I'd second acupuncture as worth a try.
My daughter had a lot of trouble with carpal tunnel syndrome and acupuncture was the most helpful thing she found.

Funnily enough Doodledog I’ve just been consulting Dr Google about the same problem! Out of nowhere and nothing to be seen. I narrowed it down to golfers/tennis elbow or Cubital tunnel syndrome. I think, for me, it’s the latter as it doesn’t extend down to my wrist or cause tingling.
Regardless, there are some very good ‘nerve flossing’ exercises which are very straightforward to undertake and worth a try.

Thanks all. I'll google 'nerve flossing' - I've never heard of that.

I hadn't thought about acupuncture either. That might be worth a try, as I can't imagine a GP being interested.
