Frozen Shoulder

Yes HeavenLeigh - a frozen shoulder can be very painful. I was treated with a steroid injection. This was about 2 years ago. I have had no trouble since. The injection was not too painful - you just have a sensation of the fluid going in - that’s my description.

Btw - I had similar symptoms as you.

When I got a frozen shoulder my doctor told me that it is normally self limiting, about 18 months. He saw my reaction to this, and then asked how long I'd already had it.... a few months, but getting worse. He referred me to a physiotherapist who gave me exercises to do. I did them religiously. The pain slowly abated and I ended up with full movement again.

I have had frozen shoulder in both shoulders. 10 years apart.
First time I didnt have the steroid injection. Had exercises.
Second time I had the injections. With exercises.

Was told both times that the recovery time would be 18 months. Which it was.
Whatever was done or wasnt done.

I was told you can have it for three years! It is the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced. I would get temporary relief with acupuncture/Tens machine. The zingers were the worst. I couldn’t drive or dress myself for about six months. It was so debilitating . I had the steroid injection just as it was beginning to thaw and it helped speed things up but three years on that side feels weak and not as it used to do. Hope it clears up quickly for you.

The life of a frozen shoulder is 18 months to 2 years When I had it it went almost on cue…. although I m not very well off I found some money and saw a physio as I was only offered a sheet of exercises by the NHS
