I received a hearing aid on the NHS from my local hospital/audiology clinic last year. It was such a life changer! Now I have stupidly lost it. I have looked everywhere! I have called the clinic and they only have a recording asking you to leave a message, which I have done for 3 days and no one returns the call. I am going to London this weekend to meet up with friends and it will not be very pleasant if I can't hear what people are saying. I tried calling Specsavers, but upon finding out that my original device was from the hospital they will not accept me as a client. Is there anywhere I can access a decent hearing aid in a short amount of time. It is quite basic. I'm feeling panicked without it!!

You could post a plea on a local Facebook or Next Door group. Hearing aids are tuned in to counter the specific defects the wearer has so you may not find any random hearing aid of much benefit. Although having said that my BiL apparently wears an old set of mind and it helps him!

My Mum has a nhs hearing aid also. She goes to our local hospital, they have a drop in policy there. She never waits very long

Ring audiology at your hospital...see what they say....my mum got a replacement in less than a week twice ( first one was free...2nd one she paid 80£ .) .....she's not lost one since!

Ring audiology tomorrow first thing and tell them you’ve lost your hearing aid and are finding it very difficult to manage without it. My husband lost his on the golf course and was given a new one free of charge from the NHS right away.

Can you actually go there if they aren't answering?

The OP has been phoning them.
