Also, as a ps - the support socks prescribed by my GP were a big help to start with

After suffering a trimalleolar fracture two years ago I now find suede desert boots are quite comfortable as the suede stretches a bit and supports the ankle. Four weeks after the op I was still wearing the socks the hospital gave me, then went onto slipper socks.

To me, from memory, 4 weeks after the break seems very early to be getting into shoes that come up the ankle...but good luck to your road to recovery, it's a painful break to have.

Hi, I had Trimalleolar Fracture surgery 3 weeks ago and it’s possible I may be able to start some weight bearing in 4 weeks. Can anyone recommend please footwear that you have found comfortable around the ankle after this type of surgery, many thanks smile
