has anyone had the RSV vaccine, I had mine on Tuesday, didn't even feel the needle, and was fine all day afterwards, next evening my arm got a bit sore, but not too bad, then a headache started, I took a couple of paracetamol and went to bed,,,when I got up this morning, my legs were like jelly, I felt so weak and a bit dizzy ,now my back's aching.

New vaccine against respiratory viruses. Only available in Scotland for over 75s.

it's for a respitory virus..it seems it's only given to people between 75 and 79...people 80 and over don't get it. pregnant women get it to protect the baby...

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
Vaccination now available in Scotland and rolling out to the rest of the UK from 1st September. Initially for 75-79 age group and the clinically vulnerable.

Myself and two of my friends have had it with no side effects. I would suggest you give your surgery a ring and ask to speak to somebody about your side effects. I got a leaflet from the nurse quoting side effects but I just binned it a couple of days ago!

We've both had the RSV jab with no ill effects. I agree with Grayling1 Hope You've already been in touch with your GP practice.

I hadn't heard of it until I read the other thread this morning, but I have just received an Email offering it to me.

I read up on it, and it appears to be a vaccine (with a fancy name) against catching a cold! So I'm going to pass. I haven't had a cold in forever.

From the NHS website: "Symptoms of RSV usually start within a few days of getting infected.

Most people only get cold-like symptoms, such as:

a runny or blocked nose
sneezing
a cough
tiredness
a high temperature – signs include your back or chest feeling hotter than usual, sweatiness and shivering (chills)."
