Breast cyst aspiration

I had a breast cyst removed - before the op I was anxious, but once the biopsy revealed it was just a cyst, I was so relieved, that the slight post op pain did not bother me at all. Yes, there will be bruising and swelling - please don’t worry - be glad that nothing untoward was found.

I think is unusual to have the symptoms you describe following the aspiration of a breast cyst. I wonder if you have an infection, as you say your breast is warm to the touch. It seems strange that you can feel a lump where the cyst used to be.
In the past I have had many breast cysts aspirations, including five all done at the same time on one occasion. I've never experienced bruising, heat or discomfort after the procedure. Speak to 111 if this continues or worsens. Are you taking a holiday in the UK? Best wishes.

Thanks for replying, yes the holiday is in the uk and I’ll see how it goes over the next couple of days. I was concerned about infection and will call 111 if it gets worse, but the breast care nurse said unless either the site of needle entry or nipple was showing signs of discharge it was fine! She seemed unconcerned and dismissive about it but I’ve obviously consulted Dr Google and seen breast Hematoma which can become infected…maybe I’m overthinking it.

This sounds similar to a friend’s recent experience, JakeysGranny, in fact almost identical. She suddenly became much worse and got ambulanced to hospital where she received IV antibiotics as she was on the verge of sepsis. It took her quite a while to recover.

I’d get it checked out again, even if you have to go to A&E.

A few years ago I had a recall after a mammogram and had a biopsy taken.
A few days later I had a phone call to say that all was well.
The next day, I had another phone call asking me to go back for another biopsy. When I asked why, I was told that the first biopsy only showed breast tissue and what should have shown up was cyst fluid or cancer cells.
A week after the first biopsy, I was back in for my second, which went well and the cyst was drained.
My poor breast was rather bruised and tender and over a few days, became red and inflamed.
I had cellulitis and went on a course of antibiotics, which cleared it up quickly.
