I had a flu jab yesterday, last night and today I feel grim!

I am coughing sneezing, took a hot water bottle to bed the awoke a couple of hours later boiling hot.
I have never had a reaction before.

Hoping I’m feeling better for our break in Norfolk tomorrow🤞.

I had both mine this morning and had forgotten all about them until I read this thread! I usually have a slight reaction but nothing so far.

Hope you feel ok for your trip.
We both had covid nearly three weeks ago now so don’t suppose we can have the jab for a couple of months or perhaps longer.
We actually weathered covid pretty well but OH has sinusitis now and has had to go on antibiotics and we both still feel wiped if we try to do what we would normally do. Have got a bottle of Metatone tonic so hopefully that will help.
Will do flu jabs though but haven’t been called to do it yet though our surgery is rubbish so might have to remind them 🤔

Oh and as for reactions my OH hasn’t had a reaction to any jab though I usually do. But was really poorly after the first shingles jab, it lasted nearly three days.

I had covid and flu , one in each arm on Thursday. Never reacted before but needed a sleep Friday afternoon after feeling tired and shivery. On the mend now and relieved to be protected

I had my flu jab on Thurs.
Two hours before I took 2 Paracetamol, which I do before every injection and then two hours after, another 2 tablets to ward off any temperature brewing from the jab.

Works a treat

We are booked to have the Covid and Flu vacs next week. I'm not sure whether to have both at the same time, as after surgery, I am not allowed to have any procedures in my left arm. So may delay the Covid one. I did ask once if they could inject my thigh instead, and was told no!

I am booked in for flu jab only. Not having that horrible covid jab. Did the same last time and the queue for flu only was much longer than for both. So a lot of people must think like me.

‘That horrible Covid jab’ might keep you from being very poorly though.

I am having flu amd Covid jabs next Tuesday morning. I’ve had them a few days apart other years so hope I’m ok.

Sorry you’re poorly hope you soon feel better

Mum had hers last Wednesday, flu vaccine in one arm and covid in the other.I went round to see her on Friday and she was outside washing her windows😄so no reactions at all.
We’re all different so will get different reactions or none at all.

I had 'flu and Covid jabs on Thursday - one in each arm. I have never had a reaction before but this time pain in both arms so couldn't sleep on either side, 'flu like symptoms for the last two days , headache and feeling hot, sweaty and exhausted. Still its better than the real thing.

RSV the other week and felt under the weather for a few days; flu and covid today. Hoping for no reaction. But now with my new heart problems I need to try and avoid infection if I can. Fingers crossed .......

Had flu jab yesterday. No problems apart from tender arm. I had covid about a fortnight ago as was told I should wait a month before having the jab.

We both had both jabs this morning. So far so good. The nurse wouldn't tell me which jab went into which arm which surprised me. But she may have misunderstood and I didn't rest the point.

We had ours this morning. Left arm flu and right arm covid. Aches in my arms at injection site (skinny arms) slight headache. And my knees ache! Dh says all good with him.

Just going to have a flu jab- no covid for me, made me so ill last time

foxie48 Sat 05-Oct-24 19:42:45

We had both jabs this morning and I had the RSV one last week. I was a bit off colour after the RSV but it may not have been anything to do with the jab. We're both fine after the jabs this morning. DD is a doctor and spent the Covid period working in ICU which she said was very distressing. She's very insistent that we have our covid jabs, I had a reaction last year but tbh it never occurred to me not to have this year's jab.

Flu jabs today then a friend (5minutes after ne) and I went for coffee and carnolis in the absence of a sticker or lollipop for being brave little soldiers. Covid next but I'm apprehensive as my left arm and shoulder are still extremely painful after my last covid booster 4 months ago shock

I felt dreadful for three days after RSV.
Had the flu/covid this morning and am rather worried I might feel as bad since there seems to be so many of you with reactions!

Patsy70 Sat 05-Oct-24 20:36:49

Had the RSV a couple of weeks ago, and no after effects at all, not even a sore arm. Had the COVID and ‘flu jabs today, with no adverse effects so far.🤞

I’ve had covid twice and it was no worse than a bit of a cold and felt tired for a couple of days.

My husband had the flu jab about 8years ago and he would have been better having flu! Never again as he was really ill.

heath480 Sat 05-Oct-24 20:55:25

I had Covid and flu jabs on Thursday,in the same arm.I get a reaction every time I have the Covid one,12 hours after it,so I want to bed in anticipation of feeling grim, exactly on cue it started, shivering, high temperature and general grottiness,it lasted 12 hours as usual, then passed off.
Going to have the RSV one, when my surgery send for me,they seem to be doing it in order of age, eldest first.

Greyisnotmycolour Sat 05-Oct-24 21:08:47

I had a strange reaction last year after having both on the same day. I woke in the night and felt really weird, I felt so odd I had to wake DH up and tell him. It only lasted about an hour and then I got back to sleep. I've got an appointment for both jabs this week so am keeping my fingers crossed that it won't happen again.

I was working Christmas eve one year when an Occy Health nurse popped her head round the door & offered me a flu jab there & then. I don't think she was having much luck getting vaccinees on Christmas eve & from me it was a "thanks but no thanks".

I had flu and Covid vaccs 2 days ago and no problem other than slight tenderness in both arms. My concern was the small clinic area . It was full to capacity of 40 seats plus another 10 folk standing round the wall. I was sitting there thinking this is the perfect environment to pass on Covid if any of us are currently incubating it !

Had my flu vac at my GP's vaccination day today - walked in, was directed to a clinic, one nurse asked a few questions while another prepared and administered the vac. I was in, out and back in the car while the same song was still playing on the radio!!
