Hi, you'll need to be referred to a neurosurgeon.. I've got 2 cysts on spine. One level 2 and one at the bottom of spine where yours is. They remove them if they're causing pain.. If they can't remove them they'll drain them and put a stent to drain the fluid away.. They're usually begin so please don't worry. If you were tripping up or falling means the cysts is sitting on the nerve.. Or your legs go numb it's the cysts growing. Some people don't even know they have them until they go for a mri for something else. If they don't both you they'll just monitor you..

I think that medical matters are best left to professionals .
What type of cyst is it ?
My relatives have had two types .
One in his eighties had a congenital cyst .
It suddenly caused him problems in later age .
He smoked and drank and was underweight from a poor inadequate diet .
He couldn't have surgery . It was kept cleaned and dressed and took a long time to heal .
A much younger man in my family had a pilodal cyst probably from cycling trapping hair into the natural pocket that we all have .
He had antibiotics and a drain and no cycling until it healed . If it hadn't the surgeon was going to do some surgery .
I think that they can be treated and shouldn't cause problems .
Don't worry .

My sister had a cyst at the base of her spine when she was 18. In her case it kept getting infected. She was described as having sinovitis. Because of the constant infections, it was eventually removed.

This could possibly be what you have, but if it is not causing problems you have nothing to worry about.

You could make an appointment with your gp, and ask them to explain it to you.

What does your GP say?

P.S. just go by what your GP says. My reply was based on the word ‘lump’

As I understand it, a cyst is a benign growth. When my middle son was 10, he returned from school, with a limp. Following X-rays etc he was found to have a couple of bone cysts on his tibia and ankle. He had operations, biopsies and bone grafts etc. It was a very worrying time.
I don’t understand why you are seeing a dermatologist. Is it like a little pimple?
I don’t mean to scare you but a ‘lump’ should be removed and biopsied.

Hello.

DH noticed a lump where the coccyx is and I went to the GP. She examined it and found it could be moved around and arranged an X-ray to see if it was attached to any bone.
I can't make head nor tail of the report from the x-ray and am wondering whether to go straight to a dermatologist for an opinion.
I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had this problem and if so, what they did about it?
Thanks in advance.
