Nosebleed after flu jab

Macadia, I also know of a woman who has had breast cancer simmering away and under various treatments beginning in 1997. For many years she had only a couple of recurrences which were variously treated by local excision and/or chemotherapy and adjuvant therapy. No metastasis.

In the months following her first covid vaccination (she had four or five) the cancer woke up and metastasised into her bones. It is a known phenomenon that dormant cancer cells can be woken by the covid virus itself, but I have not seen any credible source claim that the vaccine can have a similar effect.

39InnocentBystander's experience is a known reaction that is caused by the covid jab. The vaccine changes platelets in a way that can lead to this. In my opinion, nose bleeds as a side effect or autoimmune response should be reported.

I started spontaneous severe nosebleeds (epistaxis) after the fourth covid injection (Moderna) in April 2022. As it happens I also started frank haematuria (visible blood in urine with clots). Both started very soon after the injection and continued for a few weeks. Once it had stopped happening I forgot about it until the flu jab in the autumn of 2022 when it started again but less severely. I have had no injections since nor any epistaxis or haematuria. This has never happened before in close proximity in time with any injections for any vaccine. I draw no conclusions from this observation but learning that someone else has had a similar experience is interesting.

On all of the threads on here and other forums recently, or amongst people I know, I’ve not heard of this happening. Nosebleeds are common with and after colds as the nasal passages dry out.

There is always the temptation to look for connections or reasons behind physical occurrences, even if these seem random.
I developed a “frozen shoulder” and general upper arm pain which lasted nearly 5 months after my last but one Covid booster. Everybody assure me there could be no connection but it made me wary of this weeks booster, which, as it happened, was completely painfree and side effect free. Who’s to say?
Sudden nosebleeds can come out of nowhere or be exacerbated by being on blood thinners or a heavy cold with much sneezing, irritating the nose linings.
I’d chalk this up to being “one of those things”, the flu jab itself being one of the more innocuous ones.
But who knows?
When you read the leaflet inside any medicine box it lists more possible side effects than you can shake a stick at which is because any of these experienced during a drug trial must be recorded- however apparently unlikely.
Maybe mention it when you go for next years flu jab.

Last year I had terrible pain when I had my covid jab and it lasted weeks. In my case it was because they had done the jab too high, there is an area they need to be in with the jab and for me it was not in the right place. I was told it was rare but can happen.

I made a point of mentioning it when I had my covid and flu boosters this year and the nurse was very clear showing me exactly where it was going and no problems.

Could you have had something similar, sympathies as mine was agony.

I had the flu vaccine last Saturday; on Tuesday I had a sudden nosebleed then another on Wednesday morning and a third yesterday (Thursday) evening. The bleeds came from nowhere and weren't severe enough to trouble the emergency services but have left me feeling quite shaken.
I'm not usually subject to nosebleeds and had assumed these were because I'm getting over a heavy cold and all the nose-blowing had caused a little blood vessel to rupture but, after reading the OP, I'm wondering....
