Chilblains

I used to use Snowfire for chilblains. It is still available on Amazon and Boots.

Have you tried getting it on Amazon? I had to buy two tubes a while ago but still have some left for this winter.

I have no idea what a chilblain looks like.

It's as much a case of what it feels like, Primrose! Hot and itchy and painful.

The best answer I found was homeopathic apis mel tablets.

I second Snowfire. Good for chapped hands too.

Wow, just googled and they do look painful.

In the days of coal fires, I had frequent chilblains. I used to sit next to the open fire and toast my cold feet!

I too suffer from the dreaded chilblains, Balmosa is my go to for relief,Boots still stock it at the pharmacy counter.

Chilblains are so painful. I always had them growing up. My feet were always cold in those days. Im pleased to say as an adult I stopped suffering with them.

I didn’t realise that chilblains were still a problem. My Mum used to suffer from them in the ‘50s when I was a young child, due to hanging out washing in freezing temperatures, then coming indoors and warming up her fingers and toes close to the fire. Isn’t the current ‘chilblains’ caused from bad circulation or Raynaud’s disease?

Just ‘Googled’ it. Hopefully, if you are prone to chilblains you can keep feet and hands warm at all times, including at bedtime, and if possible increase circulation by movement. Vety painful, so hopefully you can get the cream on Amazon. 🤞

Used to get them as a child, and never past the swollen and red stage. A friend used to have the blisters and bleeding. Thankfully central heating saw the end to them.

I have col arms and feet and Raynauds, so I am very careful about keeping my appendages warm. So much easier with central heating, good insulation and modern thermal fabrics.

Thank you all so much for your replies, I have taken them all onboard and will let you know how I get on. I think I have some snowfire somewhere and also some tiger balm ( but that is so messy)! I think my feet got so cold whilst I was preparing the war memorial ready for Remembrance Day, and that started it off. xx
