Getting somewhere at last

My health hasn't been great for about 4 years now.
I have been under gastro for two years, referred here as 2 years under respiratory they could not find a cause for my cough, and got to the stage I can't eat solid food without massive amounts of pain.
I have been under a dietician for 16 months now and survive, miserably, on a liquid diet supplied by the dietician with the addition of yoghurt and ice cream. Do manage a few foods that melt in the mouth.
I have had a few tests, but the waiting time between test and an appointment to get results of any test can be months, 8 months last year between a test and an appointment for medication being prescribed.
They attempted an endoscopy in June, to take biopsies, but they could not get the camera down and then discharged me as the head man decided the locum should not have promised me the test and he did not think it necessary.
So I had a major meltdown, ended up in A&E as I was going to commit suicide as didn't want to live like this any longer.
DD2 went through the patient care team and wasn't happy with the first answer, they were not seeing me any more, so she escalated it to a level 2, and he agreed to see me for a face to face, but his secretary had said he doesn't change his mind once he has made a decision.
First appointment they sent out was for somebody different, so had to go back through Patient Care to get it changed to an appointment with him.
Saw gastro consultant on Monday expecting the worst but hoping for the best, and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I was in for an hour, took DD1 with me, and he said he was starting again from scratch, forget everything that had happened over the last 2 years. So we ran through all the history, him taking massive notes and we have come up with a plan for the 3 different issues of my digestive system that are causing problems, and a referral across to ENT.
Got a phone call on Tuesday to arrange a date for one of the tests for the end of November, I was pleasantly shocked by that call.
Been a long two years and it is not over yet but starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Only positive of this has been the reassurance that nothing sinister was found in the tests they had done so far.

Glad to hear that slowly, you're being listened to.
Not before time!

It's easy to see how people fall through the net, or give up trying, isn't it?

Good to ' hear' you are feeling more positive. The consultant you saw on Monday has taken your situation seriously, that is reassuring. Two years of being messed about ! but all credit to the consultant who is now sorting the situation out for you. Good luck!
