I'm like Old Frill, I've got half a tooth at the back but it doesn't cause me any discomfort. I haven't had it filled and I don't want to pay for a crown. My dentist says it's fine.

It's two years ago since I had a similar tooth problem to you. My dentist suggested a crown. It's perfect.
The cost was £600.

I was about to say a crown, but Monica said it first. smile

My back tooth is broken as half a filling came but doesn't bother me, temporary fillings just comes out, l don't really want to pay for a crown so I've just left it, it's fine. I regularly go to the dentist so she keeps an eye on it.

Ring your dentist. A temporary filling will of course need to be replaced with a permanent one. Your dentist will sort it out for you.

A more permanent solution is a proper filing not a temporary one

I am waiting for a crown as there is now not enough tooth above the gum level to hold a filling. My appointment booked is for the first available, 12th May!

Yes of course but just wanted to know what is a more permanent solution.

A temporary filling is bound to come out sooner or later, surely?

Go back to your dentist!!

My right at the back molar had a large filling in which has come out again!
Had a temporary filling replaced by the dentist 3 weeks ago but that came out yesterday.
What are the options now please?
