What’s everyone’s feelings about having ANOTHER COVID vaccine please? I’ve had them all up to now and was quite adamant that I didn’t want any more. Now I read that there’s a different strain making its way round. I really can’t decide, any suggestions?
No, no more for me.
Thanks for the links you posted growstuffreally appreciate all information on scientific research.
I have had 11. I am nearly 80.
You are right. She does sound very aggressive.
We had the original strain of Covid in 2020 and we weren’t well. I’ve had the first 3 inc the booster my husband has had four and was worse every time with the vaccine than Covid. That’s enough for us. I always have my flu jab every autumn though. I am pleased my elderly mother always takes every jab offered. My elderly stepmother won’t have any more she only had two. She’s also never had Covid that she knows about. Everyone is different and I would never criticise anyone even if they have had none. Each to their own.

I, for one, would certainly welcome a definitive, meta analysis of the efficacy of the vaccine across the board if you're able to post any relevant papers please.
As with all medication, one size doesn't fit all.
OK, so many statistically uninformed beliefs.

Where would the world be if there were no vaccines. We would still have the dreaded smallpox around and polio and TB. Everyone should take advantage of any vaccine on offer, although I do have sympathy for those who get side effects from them
I had a TB vaccine aged five. Always wondered whether I needed a booster as I am 60 now.
Yes, it was given to us at secondary school, if we shown not to be immune, I presume it still is. If you have never had a test to see if you need a booster I would ask your GP. I know somebody my age who had TB, she was very ill indeed with it, and took months to recover.
Mt61 I'm sorry to hear that your husband was possibly one of the unfortunate ones. Nevertheless, it's worth bearing in mind that Covid itself causes blood clots. Vaccines can mitigate against them. There is so much data about the risks, which has shown that people are more likely to catch Covid and go on to develop blood clots than develop blood clots from the vaccines.
As someone who worked as a scientist for a pharmaceutical company I would advise people to have the latest jab if possible. If you think you have contraindications discuss it with your GP. If you were unwell for a couple of days when you had the jab before just think how ill you would be with COVID.

I certainly believe in vaccines, couldn’t wait to get this one. I have my flu vac every year. This vaccine made me poorly, my digestive system went to overdrive, chronic burping for hours on end, (my friends husband same after his) both still like this, to this day.
My husband had a blood clot in his calf, shortly after his first vaccine, cholesterol normal, bp normal, non smoker, slim, good diet & hardly drinks.
I have had four vaccines.
Thank you. Social media fake news then.

A report has come out from Japan that says the more you have the more likely you are to get Covid.
Do you have a link to the report please?

I have every vaccine I can.Hope those who are not having them are not expecting NHS treatment if they get Covid and need it...unbelievable how selfish people are.
Covid is rife in my area,my friend who is to young to be offered the vaccine is really poorly with it at the moment, this strain is causing horrid stomach issues.
I don't understand why people wish others ill purely on their personal choice whether to have a vaccine. It isn't a crime to decline it.

Absolutely no need for snide remarks about peoples personal choice…

I am curious about why people do not want vaccines. Do those people take other prescribed medication and follow a reasonable life style to keep fit and active? If so, why do they ignore this one area of medical advice?
It’s personal choice….

I'll take any vaccine I'm offered.
No more for me. I have had Covid, not as bad as a cold although I was sick once.

Both my younger brother in law and I had bad Covid a few years ago and we both went on to have heart problems. He had a stroke and I had to be stented. Both of us are fit, active, healthy people. More and more information is showing that the illness can cause heart problems and for that reason alone I will take each vaccine offered.
British heart foundation now states that people with heart problems are often more severely affected by Covid. Having had what is probably covid for the past few weeks I still feel terrible, so I won’t take the risk!
