I have just watched a half hour programme on BBC 2 about heatwaves and their effects.
Yet again there was nothing about taking salt/electrolyte tablets when drinking lots of water to replace sweat lost in the heat.
On 19th July 2022 my daughter nearly died because of the heat.
She arrived in Birmingham with luggage and there were no taxis, so she struggled walking to a hotel with her luggage, drinking lots of water on the way…
At 5 am she was found unresponsive in her room and taken to Intensive care in hospital, where she remained until the beginning of August, when she was suddenly discharged.
I saw her on the 21st July and she was still confused.
She could easily have died before anyone found her.
I’m 84 and dreading the coming heatwave .
