Has anyone been on Letrozole after radiotherapy? I seem to be having quite a few of the symptoms which are covered in a booklet issued by my local hospital but this last few days I have been suffering from pain in my gums. Before surgery and treatment I was advised to make my dentist aware of my treatment which I did. I will try and get an appointment with my dentist but was wondering if I should just get in touch with clinic.

Letrozole is the devil ... I've been on it 4.5yrs ...I'm guessing its kept the cancer at bay...but the side effects are brutal...good luck 🍀

Thank you both for answering. I managed to keep pretty active and healthly until just after covid and then I didn't just go down hill I went straight over the cliff. I am on quite a bit of medication but nothing life-threatening just painful until the cancer came. I like to keep my troubles to myself in a way but I take all the prescribed tablets and keep going but I feel a bit differently about things now. LOUISA1523 - your description willl stay with me but will be a long haul (5-7yrs) I've been told but hopefully will see my 85th birthday.

I've been on Letrozole for about 18 months after having taken Tamoxifen for the previous 2 years. My main problem has been hair thinning which has been very upsetting, especially after my previously thick hair had started to come back after losing it all during chemo earlier in my treatment, but it's obviously not a cause of any pain. Having joined some breast cancer groups on Facebook it's become apparent to me from all the comments about the various side effects of antihormone drugs like Letrozole that everyone's experience is different. Some get relief by just changing the make, others by changing over to one of the other antihormone drugs such as Anastrozole or Exemestane, both of which are supposed to be just as effective. All of these drugs can cause osteoporosis or make it worse if you already have it. That could possibly explain your gun problems but in any case I would speak to your doctor if possible to try to find the best solution for you.

I was on Letrozole for five years and it caused hot flushes, hair thinning, lack of libido, etc. I fell and broke my leg after which I requested a bone scan. I knew my bone density was good after a previous bone scan. However, it was discovered that it had deteriorated, partly age, but also partly the Letrozole. I was put onto weekly aluronic acid and twice daily strong vitamin D. Now, two years after stopping it, my hair is starting to thicken again.
