Edit.... Its the codeine in the cocodamol that works.

I've suffered for 40+ years, very severely, 24/7 in arms and legs. Sleeping usually 3 - 4 hours nightly while working full time. My life was miserable, no sleep, no sitting still to watch tv, no going out for a meal, no cinema. No sleeping in the same bed as my husband. Eventually after many prescribed medications I have found relative success with cocodamol. (And got back into bed with dh).
Magnesium is likely to help if your rls is mild.

GP may prescribe a Dopamine Agonist such as Requip/Ropinerole/Mirapex or similar. These are no longer considered by the RLS experts to be first line and indeed they eventually cause augmentation which is when they actually make it worse. GPs are not always up to date with regard to what works.
It took me ten months to get off Requip. I would never take it again.
A great site is rls.org and they have a good informative discussion board.
To suffer severely from rls can never be understood except by another sufferer.

My sister in law takes medication from her Dr. Although I’d try all the alternatives first if I were you.

DH used to swear by Rhus Tox - herbal remedy available in lots of outlets. His sister is also a fan now.

My lovely mum suffered with restless legs, she took magnesium didn't have it again. Hope you find some respite.

Oh poor you, Greciangirl it sounds awful!
Go your GP & see what help is available. Hopefully it's only one of those rotten temporary irritants! 🙏

I have on occasion been woken up at night with restless legs.

Does anyone have this problem, and if so, does anyone have a remedy for it.?

Thanks in anticipation.
