Interesting article I read yesterday -

www.dailymail.co.uk/lifestyle/fitness-wellbeing/article-15252099/Dentist-names-surprising-reason-you-wake-busting-3am-bladder.html

I thought that new studies say this is not a good idea?

I know 2 people who did this maybe 3 years ago but it seemed to have petered out...

I would suffocate, I have chronic sinus problems.

I like that the doctor in the article advises that we should seek the advice of a dentist who specialises in sleep problems (?) rather than a GP.

If you can get to see ANY dentist, let alone a specialist, then it would be the miracle of miracles.......

No,definitely not.
What a horrible sensation.
I tend to get blocked sinuses ,though anti -histamines give some relief and I'd wake up feeling as though I were suffocating.
I guess that I'm a mouth breather.

I think I'd start panicking.

A very small piece of microporous surgical tape is used, with sticky side tapped on fabric to reduce tackiness. The end can be turned in to make a tab for easier removal. Lips need lipsalve applied to protect delicate skin there. A bendy straw can be used for drink during night, can be used without fully removing tape. It is also a tip for reducing snoring.

More likely to be high sugar levels causing you to need the loo in the middle of the night. Diabetes or pre diabetes.

I would die. My sinuses are a mess!

I sleep on my back and sometimes on my right hand side. But I read that it’s better to sleep on your left hand side as that means there is nothing pressing on your bladder. But, for some reason, I’ve never slept on my left hand side and if I try to it feels wrong.

No, I dislike anything on my face.

vampirequeen Thu 06-Nov-25 17:59:57

How would I snore?

God this sounds so bizarre. Almost like a Sado Masochistic Sexual Fetish.

Do you need a safe word in case you choke

But then again you wouldn't be able to speak if your nouth was taped shut
