Anyone got feedback good or bad on adjustable beds? Sleeping sitting up is best fir me

I love mine, sleeping with my head raised stops my reflux.
I read Gransnet and do Wordle and Spelling bee in bed in the morning, I could stay in bed for hours.

We got adjustable electric slatted bases to fit into our bed frame when DH came home after his stroke. Invaluable for keeping his legs slightly raised and raising the bed head in the morning so he can get himself out of bed.

After DH's operation for oesophageal cancer, he had to sleep propped up. We bought an electric bed, two mattresses, two motors, so each side was individually controllable.
It was great and we even bought another for DD's house, about 500 miles from our home, where the previous bed had been an instrunent of torture. We stayed often to look after GSs over half-terms and holidays. DH made a stunning recovery and died 11 years later aged 87.

I love mine, it’s very comfortable and has 3 different areas that can be raised or lowered as needed.

What makes are the adjustable beds people have bought, please, and can you buy a base that is adjustable and choose your own mattress to lay on top of of it?

My other worry is how comfortable it is to sleep in. more upright position? Is it something you get used to over time, please?

I bought mine as I wanted a new bed with storage, so found one on line, it's an ottoman so lifts with the press of a button for storage and also makes changing the bedding a doddle. You can start off lifting the head just a little and increase it gradually by as little or as much as you please. You can buy a base and choose from a variety of mattresses to go on top. I don't know about make as such as most online sellers tend to make their own. Mine came from Laybrook and I've been extremely pleased with it. There's no point telling you how much I paid as I had lots of extras although I would say not to bother with the massage option as it's way to feeble to be of any use. Apart from that it's been excellent but you don't sound as though you've done any research and you really do need to as there are so many different types available to you. Mine certainly wasn't the most expensive, I'd say mid range price wise.

Mine was reasonably priced from Argos.

Bought my adjustable bed from Laybrooks as a pressie to myself some 15 years ago for my 70th birthday.

On the occasions I go away either to hotel or to someone's house I really miss my lovely bed.

I always have the head part slightly raised to help with my sleeping, even more so now that I have to use a CPAP machine every night. Also legs slightly raised. Wonderful for sitting up in bed for reading, etc. etc.

My bed has a large storage drawer each side, in which I keep all items relating to the bed. when I change the bottom fitted sheet, it is so easy, I just raise both ends high and lay the sheet over that and then ensure corners of sheet are fitted, then lower both ends and there is fitted sheet laying perfectly without any hard work on my part.

As I am by myself I have a normal double size, it is possible to have either single or - assuming there is enough room, two single sized beds, each with own separate controls, but joined down the centre to make a six foot double.

As with any bed purchase, you really should go to try them out and find out which type of mattress is right for you.

My bed was delivered and built by Laybrooks in my bedroom was a little concerned when i moved, but any good removal company is perfectly capable of dealing with these and I had no problem. Equally, when I had a new carpet put down in my bedroom, the company dealing with that also sorted out my bed.

Once in place, they are very heavy - and not suitable for moving. I lift both ends up and hoover beneath them every so often.

Thanks for all the feedback. Has anyone tried the electric powered frame that just sits on your regular bed below the mattress? Much, much cheaper than a purpose built bed and mattress.
