My daughter who had previously had bariatric surgery has lost 5 stone on Mounjaro and looks fabulous but she can't see the difference. I always thought she over egged what size she was. She would say she was a 16 and I'd think she was nearer a 20 although I wouldn't say anything to her.
I'm on Mounjaro but my weight loss is slow. I don't mind because I have stopped bingeing on sweet stuff and that is what will help my diabetes most.

I once list loads of weight on a Cambridge diet , it was awful doing the diet as it was so restrictive. I caught sight of myself in a mirror in a clothes shop and I gasped I was so not used to seeing myself slim lol

That’s for the comments. I don’t take any maintenance dose. I found it worked by making me feel slightly nauseous for months!

I have had a personal shopper experience to help me work out what suits me but I still struggle with fitted clothes. I know in my head they look good but still think they are not for me. I also got my first ever pair of Levi’s and love them even though I am a bit old for them,

When I stopped smoking it took me weeks to stop wandering outside to have a quick smoke, looking for my cigarettes when having a coffee, etc. When I cut my long hair very short it took weeks before I recognized myself in the mirror. Old habits die very, very hard indeed.

Maybe stop focusing on your weight and size and focus on something else, like increasing your strength training, or doing a new hobby. Your brain takes time to adapt but it will. If you are buying clothes focus on the colours and styles. Have a new hair style to distract you when you're looking in the mirror?

Nothing to do with weigh loss drugs but in a way related to I was a dietitian and in my early twenties went through an anorexic phase for a short time Since then I have maintained a sensible weight with a BMI hovering about 20 to 21. I am small bones. However I have to rely on the scales as I view myself bigger than I am
Congratulations and believe what the scales tell you. Somehow a photo may make you view your present size as a better reality

Pleasebenice, I know how you feel. I lost a stone on my own,

Then started on Mounjaro. Two years later, I have lost 6 stone 7 lbs.

I am now on a low-maintenance dose. As it is to help

the body to adjust and not regain the weight. I am worried I

might start to gain when I stop. I still think of myself as large.

I am not sure what suits me anymore. I am now exercising

daily, though I have never experienced the high people talk
about after exercising.

Did you do a period of taking a maintenance dose.?

MT62 . I think wegovy works slower than mounjaro . My DH was on mounjaro and has lost 3 stone in about 6months . He started in July last year and was at his target of 11 stone in January this year . He came off it 2 weeks ago and is trying willpower and exercise to keep to around 11. My dh was a snacker between meals and the wlj has stopped that . Food noise has gone .
Well done to op for her weight loss . I think it takes some getting used to a new slimmer you. My DH is wary of getting rid of his old xxl clothes . Enough they are huge on him .

Oh well done to your hubby.
Yes I have heard Wegovy is a slower weight loss.
Double prong approach , ‘if that makes sense’ to Mounjaro. I be on these drugs for two years so don’t want to loose to much too quickly.
My chin is already wobbly & plucking, like an over used elastic band 🤣

I’ve just started on Wegovy 10 weeks in & lost a stone. Can’t seem to loose any more. Keep putting a pound on, loosing it, gaining it. Felt bloated this morning.
Also I am still hungry, more so than when I first started it.
These people who seem to have lost stones, have they been on these jabs a long time?
Read that it takes weeks to kick in.

I lost a lot of weight years ago and I was the same, I looked in the mirror and still saw a big reflection. When shopping you still walk to the plus size section and when you eat until you are full you feel so fat. You have done really well, especially to keep the weight off. Buy yourself a new outfit and walk out in the sunshine with your head held high to boost your confidence.

Well done you . Great for your health as well as your looks. It will probably take time to adjust to the new you. I think your confidence will grow.
You are no longer the “girl in the baggy dress”!

I took Mounjaro for about 5 months last year ending about this time of year. I lost 3 stones and did everything I was advised to: ate healthy food, exercised and so on. I have stayed the. ONe year on my weight loss has been maintained. I just tried on my post Mounjaro summer clothes and they fit and if anything, they are a little big. I think I got firmer. However, my brain still sees a fat woman in the mirror. I started gaining weight at around 6 or 7 for complicated family reasons. The last year of having a BMI in the normal range has been very strange. Not being told to lose weight every time I saw a health professional has been a revaluation. So why do I still feel like the fat girl in a baggy dress sitting in the corner at the disco?
